Whitewashing Armor

Well, boo, boo, hiss!!
I am positive that in the Sep issue of FSM the “coming next issue” sidebar said they were going to do an article of whitewashing armor. I just looked at the online contents of the issue, and there is nothing there. Although there is an article on the Eastern Front, so maybe there’s a bit in there, but if so, it’s certainly not the feature article I was expecting. I checked out the contents for the Nov issue, too. And nothing on whitewashing there, either. However, I did notice there is going to be an article on using photoetch, and one on painting wood grain. That one referes to armor. I’m not sure how much call there is for woodgrain in armor, except for the jack blocks and some Pacific “shurtzen” on Sherman’s I’ve seen. But should be a worthwhile article, at least for me. Some WWI bipes I’d like to put that to good use on!!

I could use a good white-washing article too, for my Tiger project!

Some info in here. Hope it helps.

I don,t know about the article in the Sept. issue, but check out the Feb. 2003 issue, pg. 36, by John Robinson. The technique seems to be fairly easy to do, and the pics say it gives good results. Hope this helps.
