… What do you reckon a Stug in winter whitewash would look like after being burried upside down in some distant Russian field for 60 years?? Not a lot of the whitewash showing?

It looks like it was thoroughly painted, as opposed to white washed. Looking at the paint around the road wheels, it was well done. ‘Deutsche Ordnung’ at work?
Remarkably preserved- given a good cleaning, I wouldn’t surprised that it ran again.
Pesnd some time perusing the links below the photos–there are some other wickedly-COOL links to literally hundreds of old war-time archaeological finds, many of them old tanks, including a lot more StuGs, Panthers, and old Tiger, BT-5’s, KV’s, and even an old SU152! Tons of old places discovered too, and I even saw an entire U-boat being pulled up and drydocked!
There’s a lot of really interesting stuff to be seen!
