This is a pretty straight forward question I hve never whitewashed ever and… how is it done

or some really thinned down white hand brushed vertically, the downward streaks look like wet snow or rain has taken off some of the whitewash.

Another way that I use is to use pastels to make the whitewash. I usually apply white from the tamiya weathering sets, and apply it dry using the sponge applicator. I just keep brushing it on untill it is thick enough. The when I overcoat the model with tesotrs dull coat, it dims down and fades out the white. Ive used this on 3 models so far, an Sdkfz 222, a stuerer emil, and a 7/1 flak halftrack. Here a link:
