Which war movie did you watch today?

Guns of Navarone and Red Tails for me

Just finished Patriot.

None for me… it was a bike ride, breakfast, then work…

Das-Boot.

The 4 hour version… ( drove the wife NUT’S !!! She doesn’t mind watching my movie’s, she just hate’s watching them 102 time’s .)

I recorded The Finest Hours, Destination Tokyo and Action in the North Atlantic for later viewing.

None, I don’t have TV right now. Or more correctly, I do have a couple TVs but they aren’t connected to anything. I canceled my cable 4-5 years ago, and my internet is limited bandwidth.

PF

Darn it… missed them all. I spent the day doing two oil changes and servicing my 3 fish aquariums.

Nope. Put out Don’s flag box, had a dinner party with the priests. One’s Irish (doh!) and we talked about the great war a little. He had a great uncle who died at the Marne.

We don’t have war movies on TV on armistace day, and it didn’t really feel like the day for it, was emotional enough already. I did watch Peter Jacksons They Shall Not Grow Old on the BBC last night though.

Spent the morning at the armastice coomemroration in Bury St Edmunds and went to the lighting of our village beacon in the evening.

My DVD’s are in storage, but I did see parts of Back to Bataan ,The Longest Day ,The Dirty Dozen, and Fury on regular TV

No war movies. Just quiet reflection to our veterans while working on the bench. Better than watching any war movies.

No movies but did watch a few documentaries, wings over Vietnam the FACs and F4 phantom.

No movies yesterday, our re-enacting group did a military timeline representing the Revolution, Civil War, WWI, and WWII at Valley Forge. Brought the Jeep and got to experience how effective WWII cold weather gear was driving a Jeep in 30 degree weather. Not bad it turned out, wouldn’t want to try that in the snow though.

Especially in cold hell of Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge.

Saving Private Ryan and later started Band of Brothers (again)…

Midway, The longest day

Blackhawk Down. Spent my youth as a helo crew chief.

Das boot

With this November 11 being the 100th anniversary of the Armistice, I’m surprised nobody mentioned watching any WWI movies… All Quiet on the Western Front would have been a perfect choice.

I never saw that one.

I like Paths of Glory, and Fly Boys if only for the restored Strutter.

Gallipoli.

The Blue Max.

But my real favorite has to be Lawrence of Arabia.

I was in Jordan in 2010, and went from Aqaba up to Amman.

That rail line built by the Ottomans is still there.
