Which is a good OD for a 1/35 Sherman

I plan on entering Dragon’s 1/35 M4 Sherman DV (Direct Version) into a show. The problem is I have only built 1/72 Sherman’s in the past and have always used Testors “Flat Olive”. It looks right in 1/72 but I it looks way too dark in a larger scale.[bnghead]

So I need your opinion on a good OD to use in 1/35.

Any help is appreciated.

Testor’s Model Master OD looks more German Field gray than Olive Drab. Their regular line of enamel Olive Drab looks better. Add 5-10% white to get a ‘scale effect’ or fade it in the weathering. Color photographs from WWII show many shades of Olive drab due to different batches, weathering or old whitewash after its removed. so unless you have color references to a specific tank you are modeling then any range of Olive drab should suffice.

OK…take a look at this article be STEVE ZALOGA This will give you everything you want to know about OD.

I prefer the Poly Scale OD 505370

Hope this helps
