Hello,
I was woundering about which 1/32 F-18 Hornet that i should get? I here that the acadamey kit was the best kit this year. But i have always liked Tamyia. So i will ask you smart people whitch kit is better.
thankyou all,
seakinght
Academy is the only one that makes the F/A-18 in 1/32nd that I know of.
If you plan to make a big plane, the Academy 1/32 F-18 is good. Voted the best model of 2003(?). I suppose the Hasegawa Black Maces and Chippy Ho planes look good too (for smaller scales)…
Hasegawa also makes a 1/32 Hornet, but it is an early preproduction plane. Academy’s kit is the way to go. They just rereleased it with updated marking for current iraq markings as well.[8D]
what’s the price range on the academy kit? are there any flaws with it? are there any fit problems? Hows the detail?
thanks

Just saw it today at my LHS for $120. Don’t know about the details of the kit or how she goes together. That’s a little bit out of my price range to find out.
finescale did a full review of the kit in the september 03 issue. click the back issue button on the homepage. As for price squadron lists the original release for $99.95 and the rereleased iraq version for $129.95. If there is going to be any club sponsered model shows near you any time soon i suggest going and looking for one there. I picked my last one up from a show for $70 bucks.
