Which decals for my Tamiya P-47D?

I just opened the box tonight and am already thinking about how I am going to paint her. [;)]
I may do it in Gabby Gabreski’s colors or maybe something else.
I remember Swanny mentioning I should look into the new “Big Jugs” decals from Cutting Edge for it, so I am going to see what those look like also.

Mike might I suggest that you might want to go to your search engine and type in thunderbolt P-47.Look up some of the sites there you might find something different then everybody else has done.Digger

Lots & lots of AM decals to spend cash on ! The Cutting Edge sheets are very nice. Aeromaster also did a series of sheets called “Big Beautiful Jugs” which are also very good, if you can find em.

I think you might want to be a bit careful when you go typing big beautiful jugs into google Mike. It just might get you in trouble with the wife.

There are tons of good ones to pick from Mike, and any will look great. I’m partial to HV-P personally, but there are tons of good ones.

well maybe late at night hu Mike[;)]. Maybe when you go to your lhs you should look for a squadron book on the jug… that might help ya.

HV-P is Robert Johnson’s bird. My favorite, just because he’s my favorite ace. Do a little research on him, he was really amazing.

Mike, there are a number of really intersting a/c out there. You might try Osprey’s Thunderbolt Aces of the Eighth Air Force for a selection of profiels you may find interesting.

Hey Mike,
I am parcel to the 405th FG. Aero Master put out 3 sets of decal booklets(info of each a/c) which contains 5-6 a/c in each.They have some very colourful markings for the Razorbacks and the Bubble variants.
You may also want to check out Eagle Strikes line on the 405th as well.

Right now I am leaning toward the 56th ‘Wolf Pack’ decals from Aeromaster with Gabreski’s plane in particular. I love that paint job. [;)]
