Can someone lead me to a company that makes a Modern M88A1 for OIF. I Also need some Refernces pics as well, so If anyone has any information, I would be very happy to get it. Tanks.[8D]

AFV Club make very good M88 based kits. If I remember correctly, M88A2’s were used in OIF, not M88A1’s. (Someone correct me if I’m wrong about that) The AFV Club kit no. is: av35008

Better hurry up if you want the AVF club kit, they have recently discontinued it.
Both M88A1 and M88A2 were/are being used in OIF. AFV Club’s is the only one in 1/35 and is a great kit straight OOB. It is what I used to make a customer’s M1A2 SEP/M88A1 OIF desk set. There are a couple resin sets to convert it to an M88A2, but these cost about twice as much as the AFV kit and are pretty poor from what I can tell.

Revell of Germany reboxes the AFV Club M88A1 with a few extra Bundeswehr fittings. It is kit number 03023. It helps to broaden the search for a couple of kits than just one.
Go with the previous posts . I have the AFV Club M-88 , and it’s a good build straight out of the box , the detail is great !

Are you talking OIF 1 or later? M88s are now being uparmored with additional armor welded to the side and front. They also have armored skirts around the tracks and road wheels. If you are talking current ops, you may want to look for any “uparmored” M88 pics. Good luck on the project! BTW, nice job on yours, HeavyArty!

So Dave, what unit are you with, and what are you doing in OIF right now?

I am an Army reservist assigned to an Iraqi infantry battalion. Our unit has been active in the battle of Tal Afar from the beginning and they have done an outstanding job. We also work with a calvary unit equipped with M1s. I am with a MTT; Military Transition Team, assigned to the Multi-National Corps-Iraq. It’s an interesting assignment, to say the least.

I was just about to suggest Prime Portal for your reference pics. Also, google it, you’ll find a lot. You’d probably be better off scratching a conversion to the A2.
ANd as with the consensus, the AFV club kit is your only bet. Check the private seller listings on www.missing-lynx.com, you’ll be able to find one there for a fairly cheap price.
