To my knowledge there were no all “white” 109’s. There were some painted in all RLM 76. this color was a light bluish gray used on the lower surfaces of most Reich aircraft in WWII.
The one that I have documation on is a Bf109G-10 special fighter escort no other badging or unit ID on the aircraft. It’s white 3 all other marking were also white except the swastika on the tail. I have not learn how to post pictures yet so I no good to you in that department. Maybe someone else does. If not try looking it up on the net it is a well documented aircraft.
Can’t tell quite if this is white, off-white or light grey, but here is one anyhow…
That was a Condor Legion bird that flew in the Spansih Civil War. Can’t recall which company, but someone has a kit out on that bird. Wasn’t it a C or D model?
Yes, I know it was Condor Legion, and yes, it is a 109C. I didn’t see where it was specified that the search was for solely German 109’s of later marks.
As for a kit, Heller put one out in 1/72. I have one of them, but its not that specific airplane. Perhaps another company put one out in a differant scale with those markings, or there was an aftermarket decal sheet for it?
I need to check my references, but I believe the Condor Legion 109’s were painted in RLM 02. There were a group of 109 Ks/G 10s painted overall RLM 76 for use as high altitude fighters during the last 6 or so months of the war. In addition every winter on the Eastern front, most of the 109s, 110s and 190s recieved a coat of white on their uppers, retaining their origional colors on the lowers (RLM65 or RLM76)… You’ll need to research the particular a/c you’re modeling as the application could range from total to just splotches.
Maybe that was it. I know I saw an article in on of the UK mags recently about a build up of that bird. I’ll see if I can find that.
There was another interesting build of a a -109 in a UK mag recently, I believe it was a Swiss bird license built or somehting. Pretty cool looking.
It’s amazing the varied use of the -109. From the Spanish Civil War to use in Israel. Cool history.
I did a Hannes Trautloft 109 from Hasegawa that was white/light grey. He had several planes but this particular 109 was almost white.

| I don’t know about white, but I do know that 109’s were painted overall light grey after they were re-built at the repair depots. |

There were also some late-war 109’s and 190’s that were bare metal… or at least mostly.
Just a thought- you could look into “winterized” birds painted in overall white winter camoflage. I don’t know if the bottoms were also white on any of them, but it is a thought.
