Ok so I am looking for the parts for the Monogram B-24 Top turret and I cant find the part that the gunner stands on, so I look in the instructions and it was never included! I then look for the rest of the cockpit area and it is not there! What the heck happened when Monogram made this this. It is lacking so much in detail that there other bomber kits have so much on. Who else is/was shocked when they built this thing, cuz I gotta ask why oh why did they leave us with so much additional building.
a few days ago that same situation was with a B-17G in 1/48 but on mine the top left wing was missing, i ask for the wing in the “broken or missing” seccion in their web but they told me that they wont deliver out of US [V] oh well i guess i will have to throw it away unless i find a way to get the replacement…
Good luck fella!

I thought in both cases those turrets were used by radio operator, who stood on the floor of his station with just his head prutruding into turret. Should be blister with twin fifties (and padded shoulder butts?), with left-hand buttons for rotation of the turret.
This is generally what you should see in a top turret …

There should be a gunners stand with a reinforcing bar across the bottom, usually two support columns along each side and a pair of shell casing bags. None of the Revell or Revell-Monogram kits include these parts but it’s not that hard to scratch build.
I know its not that hard to scratch build that stuff, I mean I spent 15 months compleatly redoing the entirew interior of my B-17G from Monogram, But I guess I was just dissapointed, I lacks greatly in what there other kits have a good amount of detail in.
Ya gets what ya pay for. Both the B-24 and B-17 by revellogram are over a quarter century old and when they came out, we modelers thought it couldn’t get any better. Those models had a ton more details than we were used to. Even now, they still retail for under 20 bucks. We modelers have gotten pretty spoiled with all the new kits that are coming out. So I guess what I’m saying is that if we don’t feel like spending $40-$50 bucks for a well detailed Accurate Miniatures B-25 we need to suck it up, quit complaining and deal with what is available.
if any fellow modeler has a B-17 that may want to share i am interested, please let me know since i need the left top wing and dont know how to get it [^]
