i have been searching with no results for a 1/48 scale catalina i know monogram made one under their pro modeler line but i have found it has been discontinued i dread searching for one on [}:)]-bay can amyone help?
I think evil bay is your only option. I haven’t seen one at any hobby shops for quite some time, but maybe someone else has.
Great Models shows that Revell Germany IS GOING to release a 1/48th Catalina. Doesn’t say how much in the future, or a price.
In 1996 RM released a PBY-5 (no landing gear version) under the Monogram label, and also the Pro Modeler PBY-5a “Black Cat” (amphibian with radar). Since then they have re-released the -5 at least once and in either 2003 or 2004, they released the -5a without the radar. None are currently available in their catalog, but the recent -5a release was recently enough that some hobby shops probably still have it. I believe all the releases after the Pro Modeler releases have the figures from the Pro Modeler release.
I don’t know when Revell Germany issued this kit, but I’m sure they did. I know Hasegawa issued it in Asia around 2000.
Ebay is an option. They do come up regularly there.
