Where can i get Humbrol Acryls and Enamels In America?

I read about how Humbrol paints originated and are most popular in the UK…What Website (a legitimate one!) Can i get them from that isn’t a .co.uk? I’m having lots of trouble. Any American sites you can list will be of much help to me.

Try Squadron or Great Models for the enamels. I have yet to see their acrylics here…[V]

My LHS stocks Humbrol Enamels & Acrylics, Testors Enamels, Testors Model Master Enamels & Acrylics & Tamiya Acrylics, along with Testors and Tamiya Rattle Cans. From my own observation the armor guys buy MM & Humbrol Enamels, the aircraft guys buy Tamiya and MM Acrylics, and the car guys buy the rattle cans and a mix of the others. No-one seems to buy the Humbrol Acrylics and the rack is looking pretty bare these days.

Squadron carries the Humbrol line, though I don’t know if they carry both enamels and acrylics. Great Model carries only the enamels.

Why do you want to buy a paint that seems to be hard for you to get?

Thanks guys…I want some more because a few months ago, i got some from my LHS and really liked them…one coat seemed completely opaque. My LHS is kind of small and i’m getting this bad feeling that they are going out of business…I have to find Humbrol’s on the internet now.

I used Humbrol paints (enamels, not acrylics) for years back in the day (1978-1982). They were awesome paints back then. I still have about 100 tins of them but have only recently begun building models again and many of the tins didn’t survive the years well. Much to my dismay, there are no local dealers that sell Humbrol anymore and I’ve had a hard time finding them online, too. A couple people told me they recently went out of business but can’t verify that.

I switched over to MM when I took up building again last year. They are decent paints but no where near as good as Humbrol!

that’s odd. I hve used MM enamles since they came out, and have never had a problem with them. Humbrol on the other hand, I shudder to even THINK about using them. Zero success rate with any of the tins, from any of the various incarnations they have gone through over the years.
