Where can I get 4 Fuel Tanks 1:48 scale Super Hornet

Hello

Does anyone know where I can get 4 Fuel Tanks for an F-18 SuperHornet 1:48 scale

Thank you

Scott

Legend makes a set a three resin Hornet tanks - I got mine from Sprue Bros.

I don’t know if the legacy Hornet tanks are the same as those used on the Super Hornets. I’m sure someone out there knows.

Just took a look at the Hasegawa -F kit I’ve got in my stash. It has four tanks. Maybe someone has some they aren’t going to use…

I do believe the tanks the super hornet carries are similar to the ones found on the F-15. Seeing as both aircraft are Boeing products you could always grab spare tanks from a F-15 kit.

The Superhornet tanks are not the same as the Legacy Hornet tanks. The Superhornets carry 480 gal tanks while the Legacies carry 360 gal tanks (I believe). F-15 tanks are 600 gallons and are significantly larger than Superhornet tanks.

Which Superhornet kit are you building? I have 1 spare 480 gallon tank from the Hasegawa F/A-18F that I’m not going to use.

The Hasegawa kit comes with them.

You have to admit they do look like F-15 tanks. Though why would anyone take away pylon space that could be used for ordinance is beyond me.[:P] BTW unless one of the attached tanks is a buddy pod with the hose and drogue that would be the only time a Super Hornet would be flying with a full load of drop tanks.

That’s a non combat ferry configuration and it’s actually not that unusual. If you see a Superhornet with 4 or 5 tanks that means he’s going somewhere very far away.

I didn’t have the wingtip missiles attached, but this configuration would be used for prolonged patrol/escort or ferry missions. I’d like to find a source for the centerline buddypak for both 1:48 and 1:32 as I have the Trumpeter kit on hand and would like to make a tanking workhorse.
