Where and what type of regulator?

Looking for info.

I have an Aztec and a Badger air brush and a badger compressor. I just bought an air tank ( I work late at night when wife and kids are in bed and need to keep quiet). I need to put a regulator on this, My local hardware and home centers only have regulators going as low at 25 psi. Looking for lower psi for fine detail work.

Any info on where to buy and how to use???

Thanks!

That’s strange … I got one of my regulators at Lowes and it will regulate down to about 5 psi. In fact it will regulate to zero since I can shut the air supply completely off with it. The gauge is a bit hard to read at low pressure since it is graduated with 5 psi graduations, but since it’s just for reference I don’t worry a lot about that.

Cheif, you can oder a hobby regulator at www.dixieart.com, complete with moisture trap. Or you can do what I did, Hobby Lobby has the testors pressure gauge by itself (1psi increments from 0 to 60 psi), just unscrew your gauge on your regulator now then put some teflon tape on the threads of the new one and screw it on and you are set!!! I think Michaels art supply stores have them too.

If you dont have either just order the complete one from dixie art… it’s possible to use the industrial one but it’s hard to get your pressure at lower pressures. Thats why I changed to this one shortly after getting the compressor!

Good luck!

I don’t need mine anymore (curse, i just spent $20 on it) since I got a new compressor with an integrated, but if you’re intrested where I got it, it was ebay and the dudes name was “Winit2day” or something like that, and it’s real high shipping but otherwise pretty reasonable.

no I won’t sell you mine because I need it for really fine control of my die grinder and cut off tool
