Did the “Hetzer” have a larger wheel diameter from other 38(t) variants? My Tamiya Marder III’s have much smaller diameter wheels from my DML Hetzer. I’m also looking to build a 38(d) Einheitswaffentrager and need to know the diameter for its wheels, but I can’t seem to find this data in my sources.
I found a couple of H. Doyle drawings (from Panzer Tracts #10) and sized the wheels on them, they match perfectly, though the Tamiya rim seems a little thick(?). I still haven’t found a scale drawing of the Einheitswaffentrager to size those up though. Anyone have one (or direct me to where I might be able to find one)?
I’ll be looking forward to that build, that is a pretty cool AFV.
Hey tigerman, have you seen this?

. . . that’s my inspiration for building the beast.
BTW - it appears he used the DML Hetzer roadwheels and modified them. I can’t tell about the drive sprockets (some odd combo of resin, styrene and bolt detail).
I have Tony Greenland’s Panzer Modelling Masterclass. That is where I first saw one. I also have some pics in my Squadron PzKpfw 38 (t) book. It’s a cool vehicle.
Peridexion, thanks for the info, that’s perfect.
