What's your theme?

As I was looking through my kits the other day I was noticing a theme in my endeavors.

I have alot of medieval and Napoleonic figures.

I also have alot of German Armor kits.

My aircraft, are either Bf109’s or Martin B26’s.

Amongst our company (modelers) I have noticed things like Shermanfreak has a passion for all things Sherman. Moses collected German armor. Ron Ponatowski is a allied armor fan, Frosty has a pension for 1/72, Butz & Blackwolf are plane fanatics, etc. and so on.

So what is your theme?

I’d have to say airliners, though I haven’t completed one in ages. Hopefully, Concorde will be completed soon. A lot of my loft insulation is made up of airliner kits (and decal sheets!)…

Actualy, after having pondered about it for 2 more minutes, I’d say civilian aircraft, not just airliners…!

I like armor models. I might try a A/C model in the future.

1/144 planes, 1/72 armor(none built some bought) 1/400+ ships, figures Star Trek, I’ll build anything but cars though strike that I have a 1/64 of General Lee Granny got me on that last Xmas I want to do it justice though because of that.

1/72 WWII US planes and airfield support vehicles. I have more than a passing interest in the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt.[:D]

Lots of German armor and modern Artillery.

Since my return to the hobby I am finding myself building RAF WWII Aircraft…sure I like the occasional US or German one…but I would say my new found passion is RAF stuff…they have some unique items…sure some of it was sent over there from here…but not all of it

My theme is WW2 German, as I haven’t completed a kit that wasnt from then in about 6 years.

WW II armor. The only model I have outside of that era is an M1. Just find the period’s weapons to be really interesting.

1/350 ships, WW2 to modern, and Star Trek.

My collection is mostly sci-fi including Star Trek, Star Wars, Robotech, and Dougram. I also love modern military vehicles, especially trucks like the Oshkosh HEMTT and fighter aircraft. I’ve built nothing but sci-fi for the last several years.

Gee thanks Mike … you ask me what’s my theme and then you go and tell everyone without waiting for me to answer. Now they all know and I didn’t get to tell them.

Since joining here mine switched from muscle cars to armor. Just build whatever armor strikes my interest, might get stuck on one thing eventually but for now just all over the board ww2 to modern.

Anything that deals with Nascar, particularly the newer styles, 90’s to current era. Every once in a while, though, I will break down and do a muscle car, just to keep from burning out.

See Robert, you could have said that your theme was Canadian Shermans and their variants and that wouldn’t have stolen your thunder…oops. sorry.

I like 1/72 fighter aircraft. Most of my interest falls with in three sub catagories; Experimental/Prototype, Heavy Fighters(twin engine prop jobs), and Night Fighters.[8D] I have also recently become interested in Star Trek kitbashes. We’ll have to see what becomes of that.[;)]

Mine would be Jet aircraft from Korea to present in 1/48 scale. I have a few 1/32 scale thrown in. My passion would the the F-4 series aircraft, as I have a lot of my blood on many of them.

All things WWII: armor, figures and the occasional ship or aircraft.

I build 1/35th scale armor. When I got back into the hobby I was building ww2 german and some allied armor. During the past few years I have been building mostly modern armor, primarily soviet/russian armor. I do still build ww2 armor, right now I am working on the Tamiya Panzer IVJ. I do have a few planes to build when I want a break from armor kits.
