What's your favorite type of vehicle to model???

I was wondering, Does anybody else have a preferece to what they build?
After a year of modeling I have found that My favorites are halftracks. I love em. Dont even know Why…[:p]

Well what do you guys like? Panthers, Tigers, shermans, m1s…

I like a lot of the light tanks but have yet to do one.Mostly any WWII armor I like so it is hard to narrow down to my Favorite.Digger

Toss up between a Tiger and Panther chassis. Anymore I prefer smaller such as the Marder or Panzer II or III series. A lot less painting and so on.

Oh, my so many kits to choose from! I am sure it will be a popular answer, butI have to go with the Tiger. It was the first armor kit I built (20 years ago as a kid) and it was the Tamiya Early that brought me back over to the dark side last year

I prefer APCs. I love M113s and Bradleys, Warriors and AAVPs. The reason, I like to super detail the interiors. I especially like the M113 series. I am currently working on an M7 B-FIST (Bradley Fires Integration Support Team) Vehicle. It has and is still coming on line to replace the M981 FIST-V for artillery support teams at the company level. I may even put a full engine on this one too.

Of course I love artillery pieces too. And large scale helos, and modern tanks, and military trucks, and Vietnam Riverine craft…

Early war light tanks. Lots of rivets and very mechanical looking.

I’m increasingly being drawn to artillery platforms…SP, towed, assault guns…not really sure why, but it’s probably the detail and the more unusual nature vs. MBTs that gets me interested. [:D]

Ah ha! Another convert to the King Of Battle!!

I just finished a 1/72 KV-1b PST kit good subject, fun build, even got to use old scraps of PE to scratch build stuff. Link & length tracks. I am working on 1/35 T-34/85 right now. I tend to look for vehicles (and ships, and planes) that are different or somehow fire my immagination. I usually buy a book about the model, squadrons T=34 in action in this case and try to create it somewhere “in the ballpark” of acuracy/possibility. I’m also doing a ww2 german destroyer in 1/400 while building the two tanks. Can’t say what;s next because I don;t know yet.[X-)]…onward through the fog…

I really kind of have an all around approach! certainly tanks top the list, but I also like building support vehicles, artillery, and most anything that has a military application as far as tracked and wheeled vehicles go. Haven’t committed to any discipline. Enjoy it all. semper fi, mike

Anything weird and ugly. In particular multi-turreted tanks from the inter-war period…

Modern US armor is my area of interest right now. However I am sure that after I have been back in the land of the big PX for a while Im gonna try my hand at some WWII stuff. A half track would be fun to build I think. I definately want to get some arty pieces when I get home. We had some parked here for a short while, they looked pretty imposing in person.

Halftracks for me too, John, and I don’t know why either!

Wheeled vehicles, from jeeps to trucks to armored cars to towed artillery pieces. Tires are easier than indy links. Although that Dragon Wagon and its 19 tires has been sitting on my shelf for way too long. It’s scary.

Artillery.

I’ve been told it’s because I have a bad case of “barrel envy”.[:p][:D]

For me I would have to say that my favorite armor subject would have to be the same as my favorite subject for aircraft. And that would be anything German doing World War II. The germans had so many different versions of vehicle that the choice would be endless. My next favorite would be the M1 Abrams. Anyone know where I can find the first production M1. I am still to this day kicking myself in the rear for not picking it up when I was younger.

Anything WW2 will do for me. That’s all I’ve built since starting up again at the beginning of the year, and that’s all I have in my stash.

M48/60 series and the Abrams family. Probably because of my personal experience with them. Brings back good memories.

aircrafts and motorcycles.

Right now I’m looking into armor too.

Basically anything with mechanical engineering beauty and MUST uses an INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE.

My bag at the moment is German wwII anything but I must admit to being drawn to Russan and U.S but I have a plan for doing them in the long term.
