I mean about the upcoming release of the Stryker .Actually,I probably should ask the Army.I am of course comparing it to the LAV.They seem to serve the same purpose.Does anyone have an explanation?
I don’t know the exact answer but here are a few suggestions.
- It’s a new kit.
- It’s modern vehicle.
- It’s the future of armored vehicles, maybe.
- It has about ten different configurations.
- The field of combat is current.
- It isn’t 1/48 scale.
- It may not be a dog of a kit.
- I think the darn thing just looks cool.
The Stryker is not the same vehicle as the LAV-25. It is the next generation LAV, LAV III. It is wider, longer, more armored, etc. I personally don’t like it, but that is another issue. They serve different roles too. The USMC LAV is used for reconnaisance. The Stryker is a full combat system with 10 variants for all different roles/jobs.
Here is a comparison between the two.

As for the model, see the above post. New modern AFVs are always welcome in my book, especially by a company like Trumpeter, who is known for good quality at reasonable prices. Bring it on.
Thank you both, especially. The side by side photo says alot.Just being wider & tallerWould be appreciated by the troops, means less of a “sardine feeling”,as well as holding more “stuff”. Semper fi, rudedog
