what's the difference

i’m doing a model of my dads ship USS NEW MEXICO and i need to know the difference between measures 21 and 22 camouflage. also are ModelMaster colors #4241 5-N Navy Blue and #4243 Deck Blue 20B correct for late 1944 and 1945? if not ,who has the correct colors? thanks for any help

Measure 21 is overall 5-N Navy Blue, with 20-B Deck Blue.

Measure 22 is 5-N Navy Blue from the stern level, parallel to the waterline, to the bow.

Everything above that is 5-H Haze Grey.

The ModelMaster paints are correct for that time period.

Jeff,

You never cease to amaze me! You’re a walkin’ encyclopedia! I love it, keep the info coming!

New Mex, The proper shades you are looking for are available from White ensign Models. There web site is: www.whiteensignmodels.com They are in England. But there shipping is pretty good, about a week and a half from order time to my door.

Thanks Dave,

Trouble is, I can’t remember where I live sometimes, but I can tell you what colors any US capital ship wore between 1941 and 1945…kinda scary…
