Whats the cover on the end of the cannon

Hey guys

can anybody tell me what the cover on the end of the cannon was for? and how could you replicate that and what material

Thanks

Jeremy

That’s the muzzle cover. It was put in place so the gun tube wouldn’t needlessly get dirt & dust & water. Useful during marches or when out of action. Canvas material – I’d probably guess that it was impregnated to make it waterproof. Some resin examples – you can make it out of epoxy putty yourself.

its a muzzel cover for protecting the cannon muzzel. you can probably replicate it by using tissue soaked in white glue.

It was used to keep the inside of the gun clean dry and free of dirt and other debree. You cold make a cover using tissue paper like the kind that comes in a shoe box.Very easy are you cold buy one made of resin to replace the end of your barrel.

thanks guys, I was planning on using it ony my R/C Tiger Tank so I might need something a little stronger like a heavy plastic or tarp? any ideas?

again, thanks guys. It so nice to have a forum where I can get other ideas I havent thought of

Jeremy

When I was in and playing with M-60s we used elefant condums. Good Hunting, G.W.

Easy to make is with kleenex/tissue paper, not the thick one, but the thin one.
Soak it with water color, wait to dry. When dry it will be stiff, that’s when you use them.

Hope this helps.
