What's RLM?

Hey guys,

It could sound funny for you guys[:D], but I relly don’t know what that RLM thing is where you guys are always talking about…
Is it a kind of paint, or mayby a tabel to look up the equivalents of other companies…
What I do know is that it’s used with Luftwaffe plane…

I beive RLM stands for reichsluftministerium… it is the board that assigned camo colors for nazi planes during WWII. model companies have reproduced these colors with RLM paints. Polly scale and MM 2 of the companies that make RLM equivalents. Hope this helps.

Gunze also makes RLM paints colors.

RLM stands for, wait for it;

Reichsfahrtluftministerium

or,

Reich Air Travel Ministry

Lifecolour also make RLM colours, but the Gunze ones are the best IMHO.

KJ200 - Close buddy. It’s actually Reichsluftfahrt Ministerium. I’m trying to learn German, and man it is really hard to keep straight all those words running together. [:)]

I was kinda wonder myself what RLM stood for. Thanks for the answer. Now, where can you get a list what the colors are and/or their comparison to various paint brands or the FS listing?
