right now Im working on a kitbash. A few years ago, my wife knowing Im a Starwars fan and love building models bought me a snaptight Naboo Starfighter. Now if only I liked building scifi stuff we’d be in buisness. So it’s sat in my “to do” pile with never really having any intention of building it. I have an AMT AC-130 that I started last year but couldnt finish it before the Military decided to move me. So here I am in Belgium not knowing where to buy supplies to finish it (the military wouldnt let me pack paints, thinners, putties…:frowning: ) Feeling an incredible urge to slap some glue around I decided to make do with what I got handy and this idea came to me… smash my Naboo starfighter together with a Fujimi 1/72 RF-4 that I had no intention on finishing (it came as a collection from ebay) This thing is starting to look like a futuristic ME-262 :slight_smile:

At present, the Eduard P-39Q that I plan on doing up in a Tuskegee scheme… just finished last night using my Badger 360 for the first time to apply the neutral gray underneath. I’ll shoot up some digital pics of her tonight to show it off…

This is the thread I started a couple of weeks ago. It’s nearing it’s “finishing-touches” state. Hits on that thread waned a bit, so I thought I’d forego the “step-by-step” photos and present it to everyone when I’ve finished it completely.

I’ve got some things coming up that are going to take away from my kit-building time…namely the painting of the “baby room” and the assembly of the baby furniture (our first is due June 7). I’ve also got a Vegas trip to go on this Sunday/Monday/Tuesday.

I think the kit I’ll start on next will be a sci-fi kit just for fun…another Macross Valkyrie or a Gundam. We’ll see.

ok you asked. this is it right now. i have a p-38 ready to begin and a f4f-4 both of those in 1/72.

I just returned to the hobby, and have the Trump. P-40 B/C that I will finish as “Tex” Hill’s # 48. Next to it is a jeep that will also have the markings of the AVG and plan to display them together. On the other side of the table are a Tamiya 1:48 F4F Wildcat and the F4U-4 Corsair “with Bunker Hill markings” as aircraft that Marine Ace Archie Donahue flew to achieve his 14 victories.

Actually, there’s four 109’s on the bench at the moment:

One ‘rescue’ job which is a 48th Hasegawa E-4/7 that came my way partially built-up and in need of… restoration. She’ll serve as a testbed when she’s done.

Two of the others are 48th Hasegawa E-3’s. One will definitely be built as an E-3, the other may be converted to an E-1. We’ll see how it goes, have to dig through the decals and reference. Haven’t started cutting plastic on either of these yet.

And the last one, pictured below, is the old Revell G-10. I’ve been working on this thing for bloody ages, as they say across the pond. originally intended it to be an Italian bird, and may very well follow through. I’ve been known to switch subjects in the middle of a build so, we’ll see…

I started this project way back when I intended to cram as much detail as I could into every model I built. Soon discovered that I was ‘building’ relatively little, so decided to lean towards more SOB modeling.

Anyhoo, at the moment she’s got a combo scratchbuilt and brass cockpit, with a kit part or two thrown in. The control surfaces and all have been cut out and I’ve started to reconstruct the flaps and rudder. The bug has bitten me again, so I may go nuts on this thing once more…

I will finish this thing one day, as it’s still a decent kit by today’s standards. (cockpit and a few other details notwithstanding) With a bit of work, she’ll be a beaut.

Curtiss SC-1 Seahawk from Antares, in the paint shop.
Vought TA-7C Corsair, Fujimi kit with Falcon conversion, building the cockpit noe.
Grumman J2F Widgeon from Airfix, currently sanding everything down to make it fit!

Last night i opened the box to the Airfix 1/24 Spitfire Mk.1 which i am contemplating as my next big project when i finish my Tornado.

Hey, knight667, I’m working on 1/48 Revell B-17G “Chow Hound” too! Except I’ve added many variations to it, and it’s going to be very weathered, as the theme for it is “Home once again”, depicting the crew of “Hitler Kaput” and their last mission completing their tour. “Hitler kaput” is a story I found somewhere out of a public luibrtary…i liked it, and Revell’s 1/48 scale B-17G was the perfect mdoel for it…so there I go! I am currently finishing up the details before fuselage assembly.

I am currently finishing off a 1/48 P38 Lighting and a 1/48 Corsair F4U-1D. Next up is the Mosquito (details below) for the Aussie Group Build and I picked up a little 1/48 Pea-Shooter that will also move up to the workbench.

I am working on a 1/48 hasegawa F6F-3 hellcat. I’ve posted some pics of it in another thread. just finished decalling it and given it a gloss coat ready for a wash.
