What's on your list of things to build??

Since we always talk about what we’re building right now…why not discuss what grand projects are waiting in line?

I bumped my 1/32 Fw-190D9 back down the list since I’m getting another kit, and I’m really enjoying doing 2-3 aircraft (of the same type) at once.

So…after my Spitfire project, I’ll start the Fw-190D9s, then it’s a 1/32 Hasegawa Spitfire XIV, using the Mk Vb kit and Warbirds Productions conversion kit.

Then, I finish my Panda 1/350 Arliegh Burke with WEM PE.

Then, if all goes accroding to plan, I’ll finish my 1/350 IJN Tone resin kit.

So what’s in your upcoming schedule??

Jeff Herne

i love any thing thats an aircraft and has a cammo paint scheme. my favorite cammo scheme is the israeli air force scheme. if anybody knows how to get the markings and the cammo patterns please post a link. sorry jeff, didnt mean to change the subject. guys, just slip the link in with your answer to jeffs question. i have an A-4 shyhawk in line next, then an A-10. beyond that, an F-4 phantom is definately in the future.

Well currently I am finishing up a Sd.Kfz. 251/1 Ausf.D as soon as I finish that tho I am going to tackle my first 1/32 scale model. A Hasegawah BF-109E. After that I am not sure what I am going to do. I also tend to do a couple models at the same time. Right now I am also building a 1/48th scale F-84G which I kinda stopped doing for the time being because I cant get the right wing to sit right.

Anyhow thats whats up for me currently.

Rich

I’m just finishing my Hasegawa 1/72 RAAF F-111 G Aardvark

I don’t have too much lined up after that and the other projects I’m going on

I’ve got a white metal Vorlon Heavy Cruiser from the Babylon 5 Wars role playing game that I haven’t fully decided what to do with. Its pretty rough so going straight from the box with it isn’t an option if I want a good model.

My initial thought is I’d figure out what scale its at and use it to make patterns for a larger scratchbuilt project, providing I can find decent references for the subject. That project, if it occurs, is definitely off in the distance as yet.

Everything! [:D]

I wish.

Currently I have two projects going now and not sure if I’ll be undertaking a third right now. I plan on doing a tank soon(not sure why but I want to give it a shot), or at least after I finish what I have going on now. My next aircraft will probably be something small like a Zero, or a Mustang. Right now I’m building an F-84E and a B-52, and after that B-52 I’m not sure I want to do any large models again or not, but I’d really like to get Academy’s Bockscar and Enola Gay. I’ll probably go after those after the tank, and maybe a couple of small fighters. I also have a really odd idea of a project I might share later but it’s more for humor purposes. Maybe later. I’d just like to get what I have going now done, eventually.

I only build 1/48 WW II aircraft, and there are so many great kits to go. But, to start…
My 4 Luftwaffe aircraft “production line” is nearing completion, and I’ve begun work on a Hasegawa A6M2 Type 21 with Verlinden details. I’m also anxious to start the Hasegawa Ar 234, also with a Verlinden set. Just got the Eduard profi-pack P-39Q, and its a beauty in the box. The Dragon Me 262 Mistel is also near the top of the list, as is a Hasegawa B6N2 “Jill” with Eduard PE. Then there’s the seven more Trimaster Me 262s to build. This is my plan for the first couple of months this year.

Good luck to everyone reaching their goals !

Hey Pix,

I got an idea…let me know when you start your Ar-234…I have one too…we’ll do a build-along. I can post up the pics on my site…we’ll compare notes. I’ve also got a ton of reference materials on the 234.

Jeff

Sounds like a good idea, Jeff. I’ve read some reviews that say there’s a fit problem getting the nosepiece to the rest of the fuselage. I’m planning to wire the cockpit, as that area is SO noticable. I’ve found a few close ups on the net of the NASM bird. I’m going to use those markings. The wheel well color really throws me. Must have been a late-war primer. Any idea what that color was?

Forgot to mention - mine’s the 234B-2. The Verlinden set has some BEAUTIFULLY cast cameras.

After reading the list of some of the items to be built by ithers I am surprised at what is in my attic. It seems as if every time there is something new that I woul like to build I get it without thinking about what I have yet to build. Great Huh? Right now I am attempting to build a Regulus One Cruise Missile launch site diorama. It has taken the place of a Me-262 that I had in progress. Sound familiar? I’m sure we all do this at one time or another.

Great modeling to everyone.

Richard

Feel a 1/48 109 coming on, eith er a G or an F.

I;m starting to get into the groove with modelling now, having managed to do most of the camo on a 1/72 Me163 so far today. I’ve taken a leaf out of the Book of Pix, and gone at it with a vengeance! Very theraputic[^]

Braille scale armour is also beckoning, so mabt a Tiger 1 next.

Karl

Going to start a Hasegawa D3A VAL for the Pearl Harbor build, probably tomorrow.

Also Have

Me109F-2 Jabo
P-51D
Tomahawk Mk II
F-6B Mustang
Mosquito MkXVII
Ki-61 TONY
Ki-100 TONY
Me163S-1
Il-2 skis

plus a few more I can’t think of right now.

So I have plenty to do hehe
JOHN

I’ve always wanted to write a book, now’s my chance.

Chapter One - REAL Airplanes

Here’s some specific subjects I’d like to build, it’s just a matter of time (and, in some cases, research) before I get to 'em.

Cocktail Hour - The all-time classic piece of nose art, bar-none. I’m a nose art junkie, so this one’s a natural!

Carpetbagger - I’m fascinated by special ops units in WWII, and I also just plain like black birds.

Belle Ringer - When Tamiya brings out their B-26, this would most likely be the first Marauder I’d choose to build. (No, Tamiya isn’t doing a B-26 or a B-17 or a B-24. It’s a trademark quip of mine and a very long story…)

Blitz P-38 - Man, what a crappy image… I also have a long-time fascination with captured aircraft operated by the Luftwaffe, so this P-38, too, is a natural…

Hot-Rod Butcher Bird - …as is this 190, cuz I also have a fascination with captured aircraft operated by the USAAF. I’ve actually already built this particular airplane, but I used the old Otaki kit and would like to redo it with something better.

Pre-Paintshop Butcher Bird - This is what the above aircraft looked like before it got the flashy paintjob. I kinda like to do before and after models every once in awhile…

Hell hath no Fury… - I wanna build a Fury and I wanna paint it green, brown, black and white. (with some silver too) This is a project that I’ve been putting off for years because of a lack of good reference. Also, the available kits (Airfix and Pyro) don’t exactly inspire awe these days. So I’m waiting for Roden to expand on their recent theme of releases. One can hope, can’t they? (Although this guy did a damn nice job with one of the two older kits)

Kennscht mi noch? - Some of the old hands here on the forum may remember one of my old sigs. I have an affinity for crates of the Great War and this is one I like a whole lot more than most…

Pacific Princess - I usually don’t build models of warbirds, but this would be an exception. Although I’d build it in the scheme it wore before it was stripped for Pearl Harbor, one of the most entertaining flicks made in the last ten years, but one of the most god-awful war movies ever made…

Tolly - Did I mention that I’m one of the foremost aficionados of cheesecake in the modern world? [:p] LOL I’m addicted to T&A and it shows, I guess. This is one that I need to get some more reference on before I can dig in.

Repeat, please… - Okay, so it’s not a Hurri, but it is a Pole in the cockpit. And seeing as I’m 3/4 Polish I’m quite interested in the history of Polish Military Aviation. Even if that weren’t so, this is one of the most appealing Spits I’ve seen.

MY EYES!!! - I like weird stuff, just like the next guy. And the experimental disruptive schemes applied to VF-3 F2A’s in 1940 are kinda weird.

Hawk - I’m Mr. P-40 and this is a P-40, so it MUST be built. But it’s the fact that this is a very unusual example of an early Hawk which really draws me in. It’s also in a locale which is virtually unknown to many and that’s another attractive feature of this particular bird.

So that’s part of what’s in the R&D department here at der Wolfschanze.

Next up: Chapter Two - Converters

Fade to Black…

I’ve just recently picked up modeling, I’ve just finished an 1/72 Heller F-86 Sabre

I’m currently working on:
1/72 Italeri Pkw IV Ausf H
1/72 Hasagawa F-4 Phantom
1/72 Academy B-58 Hustler

What’s still in the box:
1/48 Revelle P-38 Lightning
1/48 Tamiya V-1
1/72 Tamiya De Havillan Mosquito
1/72 Hasagawa F-16CJ Block 50

I need to start on both my OV-10D for the USMC group build and something for the Pearl group build… I haven’t decided on that yet. In the meantime I need to finish the three projects that I’m working on, and I have the Bell X-1 by Tamiya (1/72) that I want to start soon.

Hey Pix,

I have the Monogram book on the 234, I’ll start reading and see what I can come up with.

There’s been mention of RLM 99 in the past…I need to see the color and see if it jives. Otherwise, I’ll call Garber and ask. (When you’re a museum director, it’s called ‘Professional Courtesy’)

I need to finish these Spits, then maybe I’ll reshuffle the list!!

Jeff
