Whats next?

What aircraft kit would you like to see on the shelves in your scale of choice?

I know these are usually limited, but im thinking if we get to choose whatever we want, there might be something someone hasnt thought of before.

Ill limit it to your top 3 choices.

My 3 would be.

A-6 Intruder (multivariant) in 1:48

RAH-66 Comanche 1:48

A-4K Skyhawk 1:48 (i know there are other variants, but none with the Kahu model glass cockpit)

So those are my top 3, what are yours?

OS2U Kingfisher in 1:32

F2G Corsair in 1:48 that isn’t 1) an air racer or 2) awful.

P-38 in 1:48 (I know they exist…but all of the current kits have some serious flaws in them…I’d love to see Tamiya, Dragon/Cyber-Hobby, Eduard or someone do a “full line” treatment, and attract more markings from AM decal shops)

1/48 F3D-2 “Skyknight” (new tool or Czech Model reissue)

1/48 Curtiss XF15C "Stingaree* (late version w/ “T” tail)

1/48 Grumman HU-16E "Albatross* (in USCG markings please!)

These aren’t necessarily my top 3, just the first 3 that come to mind.

BTW, I too am looking forward to the Revell 1/48 PV-1 Ventura. Last time I checked, there were a couple of Venturas in the weeds @ my local airport that were allegedly going to be used in a restoration. If they are still there, I plan on taking detail photos of them for references sometime soon. JB

1/48 Ju 88A-1 (but not until long after I complete building my EXPENSIVE A-4 to A-1 conversion)

1/48 B.P. Defiant Mk 1

1/48 Do 17Z (yes, there is the Hobby Craft (which I have) but it sounds like it’s a PIA to build).

32nd A6M8 and 32nd J2M3. i think hasegawa is releasing a 32nd J2 raiden.

a new tooling 1/72 halifax (it’s time to retire the old matchbox from business)

a decent mig-31 1/72

latecoere 521 1/72

These are all available, but are a bit iffy, so new;

1/72 Avro Vulcan

1/72 B-52

1/72 B-58

All 1/72nd

Ju 87C

Me 262A-2a/U2

A decent short Stirling

bsyamato I have the last Revell MiG 31. Not built it yet, but it looks pretty decent and not heard any thing bad about it.

I have too, i started it on mig alley gb with cockpit scratch, the original mold are from zvezda [:(] only the box is from revell.

Main problems i found on cockpit and the huge afterburner are too much poor. even the contructuion enginneering are a little strange, i see the condor kit

Agree with you for the stirling [Y]

Thanks for the heads up. I did build the first Revell MiG 31 many years ago. I knew this new one wan’t the same and i had heard they did one that was from Zveda, but wasn’t sure if this was it. I have been looking for any AM but there doesn’t seem to be any out there for any kit. I guess i can live with it.

probably eduard made a set for zvezda, remember i see in some place, but surely pavla made the ejection seats. I have six for various planes on my workbench

I will ahve to have a look around for them. They are not available on the usual sites i buy from so may be OOP, so will have to try E-bay. Thanks again for the heads up.

72nd:

  • Short Stirling
  • Handley-Page Halifax (both radial & inline variants)
  • Short Sunderland

Tim

All 1/48:

PB4Y Privateer

Heinkel He 115

Martin AM 1 Mauler

Thank You Revell for taking care of my wish for a 1/48 PV 1 Ventura

I’d like to see kits of the Red Bull air racers in 1/48 scale. With the bright colours & small size, they could be a good “gateway kit” for people first getting into models. [2cnts]

1/32 Stearman (or at least a better one in 1/48 than the Lindberg kit)

1/48 Boeing B307

1/48 Short Stirling

And I, too, am anxiously waiting for the release of the Revell Ventura

me too not symple to found these, i just finded another site.

if you need have some address for sellers, but are in europe [:O]

---- short stirling and hp halifax wins? [:D]

A Hasegawa 1/48 Judy dive-bomber (Yes, I know of the Finemolds)

A Tamiya/Hasegawa 1/48 Frances

I think you, me, an’ B-17 Guy are the only guys that even know what that airplane is…

1/48 PB-4Y2

1/48 PB-4Y2

and

1/48 PB-4Y2

And it better be under $35.00 or they can keep it…

Also, no “re-tools” of existing kits… All that does is raise the price to ridiculous… They’re fine and quite buildable the way they are… Make new kits of aircraft that aren’t available in injection-molded form already if you gonna do it…
