I just want to see how many people would think this is a neat idea, or a suicide mission.[?]
Well I got a P-47 D just for improve my techinques before I start working in some more expensive kits…I can get the P-40 the P-61 or the A-10…sounds interesting…
I don´t think it is a suicide mission…just extra work…with lot of putty and sanding involved…
ah ha ! suicide which is what i nearly did , trying to make that phantom kit ,
I’m in 3 builds now but a straight-from-the-box Monogram could be theraputic [:)]
I’d go with my 1/48 ‘Detroit Miss’ P-51D.
seanrgb, is one or both of those phantoms in your signature a Monogram? The ‘E’ model looks great with the panel work.
So a group build would be cool with you guys?
I have several Monogram kits Im just eager to build, I think the group could be an out of the Box, or refurbish build. By that I mean both.
Vintage aircraft,
I’m actually working on the Monogram 48th scale P-38 lightning right now, about ready to hang the booms on this week… Would I be jumping the gun by too much?[:D] A good part of my unbuilt collection is from the Monogram/Revell line, I usually find the subject I’m looking for, and the price is right![;)]
vintage i actually think this build would go with a planned build. i want to do a b-17g in 1/48. havent been able to find the kit yet but still looking. you may have hit on a good one. might have potential.
joe[:D][^]
I have these Monogram kits: A/B 26 invader, B 17g, B 25j [8 gun nose], B29, B 58, C 47 Skytrain / Dakota, DC-3, P-39, P-47, P-61 and a Kingfisher, H. Hurricane and H. Typhoon Ib, that I could join in with. Open to any Airforce markings ?
Rob.
I am looking for the P-61…if I can find it I’d like to participate!
Dan
Vintage, I think you might have enough interest now to start a Group Build in the new Forum thread of the same name that was just started by FSM.
Ok then lets start the build, how about the Monogram Groupies Group Build[:D]
No Im kidding what should it be called?
Oh hey anyone with the Mongram Bomber kits please come and join the Bomber group build, we could use some more people, and a B-58 would be nice. And if you have started a kit already that is ok by me.
I guess we should just call it ‘The Monogram Build’ .
I already got my tag!
Two weeks ago I bought Monogram’s F-14A and a decal sheet for song. I have a couple of extra ejection seats floating around. It would be a fun out of the box project. What time frame are you talking about? Do modern aircraft qualify? (If you call the F-14A modern…)
I suppose this would not include the Pro-Modeler kits…? If not, I have a very, very old Tu-16 bomber in its Matel/Monogram box, I believe…
Great idea. I’m already in 3 group builds but I’m finding that they’re a good way to help me choose what to start on next out of my vast stash. Most of my unbuilt kits are Monogram.
I think Pro-Modeler/Monogram kits should be OK. They are Monogram kits, after all. We don’t want to make too many rules and take the fun out of it.
Monogram Pro-Modeler kits are defintatly ok.
Ok then it will be called THE MONOGRAM GROUP BUILD.
Does it go in this formu or the group build one?
Oh and any kit ever produced by Monogram is acceptable, even the modern ones, and the very first ever produced.
What about Revellogram? Monogram kits that now have the Revell logo on them? I have built three and I think they are suicide missions. The grade of plastic, quality of the molds, and fit are about half the quality that Monogram had. However, there is ebay for all those great original kits. Just bought 6 for $4 for my nephew. I love Monogram for the price.

(Oh and any kit ever produced by Monogram is acceptable, even the modern ones, and the very first ever produced.)
ant kit ever made by Monogram Scott evern if its under the Revell logo.[:D]
Suicide mission on a Dirty Dozen scale. Being diabetic, I am told I need to keep my stress levels low.
Therefore, no messing with Monogram blobs of palstic.
And as for the Revellogram/Monogram stuff… my understanding is that the Revellogram stuff IS the Monogram aircraft reboxed. The majority of the Monogram boxed stuff is/was cars, trucks etc, excepting their ProModeller range, which I can’t help thinking is someone else’s kit reboxed. I have the ProModeller F-15E. Lovely looking bird, but was made in Korea. Makes me wonder if Academy had anything to do with it.
HAve fun.
