Today I cancelled an order from DragonUSAonline after they told me my order would ship oct.10. I placed the order August 20th. On top of that, one of the kits i order was out of stock, so they couldn’t include that.
Now, waiting for a refund, and soon to have that forty dollars back in my pocket…
Any suggestions for a kit?
NOTE: kit doesn’t have to be $40 exactly, can be less or a little more, or any combo of kits would be great. Don’t suggest anything avaliable from Dragon online, as they have lost my business.
I ordered three tamiya kits, The M5A1, the M8 HMC (that was such a PITA to find) and a Kublewagen.
yes, it’s 16 days away, but after waiting TWO FREAKIN’ MONTHS, on top of that they COULDN’T SHIP PART OF THE FREAKIN’ ORDER!!! it really wasn’t worth it anymore.
I believe that Dragon USA online sources its kits from other online shops. That is why they are so cheap, they have kits that aren’t Dragon and it takes so long to ship. I would have been content in waiting for a cheap kit or two. I can’t pass up a deal with the way prices are these days.
I hate to be rude, but none of you have answered my question.
How I choose to do my business is my own choice. Having sunk $40 dollars into models I wouldn’t be able to build for two months is ridiculous. I’d rather put it into something i can build right then. And considering I’ve cancelled the order, there’s not much else i can do with Dragon.
They don’t charge until the item ships. Thats how it was when I bought my Fehrmann Tiger at least.
You have $40? What are you interested in? Do you want to get the same kits from the cancelled order? Look around Great Models and Squadron. They both have good sales and good selections.
I’ve had good luck with Squadron, but would like a review of a favored kit, or a suggestion of one that is well liked, just to get an idea of what’s availiable.
If you got a Hobby Lobby nearby, sit on the cash until their “40% off any item” coupon shows up again on their website and do it right. That’s the way to handle those “New Releases” sky-high prices…
Never thought to look on line, truth be told. I “buddied up” to one of the managers, (a cutie named Debbie) and she kinda gets me what I want (for kits) as long as I can tell her the manufacturer and kit numbers…
Try mustbid store on Ebay. They have good prices and yu get your order within a week. they are out of San Francisco if I am not mistaken. I bought the 1/35 scale Trumpeter Faun still wrapped for under $50.
