I have bought a new paasche vl air brush and compressor what I need to know is what is the best type of paint to use and the best way to mix it. I have been using model master enamel and mixing it with the MM thinner. Also I would like some tips on using a double action air brush. I had a testor single action air brush and compressor combo that I had got half way good with but it did not let me do some of the things I think I want to try. Any help would be great thanks. medic1098
You’re comfortable with MM, so stay with it. However, save yourself a lot of money by getting your thinner by the gallon at the hardware store.
As far as airbrush use, you have the basics, so just load up some paint, take a junker or even some sheet stock and practice getting the right pressure to pull back on the trigger to get the lines you want.

For that matter, you can also decant some Krylon paint you get at Wal-Mart in the same section as the paint thinner and have fun with that also.
If you decide to spray with MM acrylics, as I do so I can stay indoors for the most part, I have found that the generic Wal-Mart regular fingernail polish remover is an excellent air-brush cleaner, since it’s main ingrediant is acetone, and it also has glycerine imxed in a water-based solution that keeps the brushes O-rings from drying or swelling as alcohol will. Also, it leaves an odor that is not objectional to other family members.
