What type aircraft is it?

Okay, I probably deserve to be beaten over the head for this one but, on the right side of the FSM home page where it says, “click here for expert tips on:…” what type of airplane is that? Yeah I know everyone point and laugh.

Thanks for the help,
Steve

That would be a Navy SB2C Helldiver. Saw action in WWII. Principally a dive bomber and a long range scout aircraft. Was to be replacement for the Dauntless. Was built by Curtiss Wright.

And your a professional pilot[?] LOL That would be like me (a Truck Driver), not knowing what an old Mack truck was.[}:)][:p][;)][:o)][X-)][D)]

Matt,

Thanks for the info.

When my Uncle started his trucking business, he started off with a used Mac. Later he bought a Diamond T and a Reo. When I talk with people younger than 45, most have never heard of a Diamond T or a Reo. They think only KW, PB. and Mac make trucks. Some have never heard of White trucks. Am I telling my age?

LOL, I broke out on a Mack many, many years ago. I got bumped over to a Western Star after that with a 5 speed main, 3 speed brownie, and a 2 speed rear end. Three shifters to play with and when driving in town it was a pain to shift. Moving oil rigs was so much fun…NOT.

Berny,

As the old adage goes, “those who do not learn history are destined to relive it:”. And thus we have the PT Cruiser !!! I hate to admit this, but I have actually driven a REO. It’s funny how when you are , say less than age 45, you want the latest and greatest whatever. After that age you start looking for reminders of the more youthful periods in you life.

Anyways, to assume that a “professional pilot” would know any and all aircraft is just as erroneous as the assumption that a professional truck driver should be able to step down out of his KW and take over a 20 mule team without skipping a beat.

I look upon the passing of the propeller driven airliner with nostalgia, many of the folks have the same feelings about the passing of the Concord SST. I think it is called the generation gap!

Hey, I OWN a PT Cruiser (ok, it belongs to my wife)!!! And, it’s FASTER than a Mack truck. Ain’t it amazing how cars & trucks are now topics for discussion in the aircraft forum?

Hmmmm I work for a Freightliner dealer and own PT CRuiser Dream Ser1! Small world aint it.?[(-D][yeah]

REO made the best firetrucks
