What to buy?!?!

I am planning on buying a good 1/72 ish kit or a small 1/35 kit when I go to Edmonton. This is a special occasion, because I live very far from Edmonton, and my favourite hobby stores are there!

Mmmmmm… buying stuff[:p]

I was thinking of a panzer-type kit.

I already own the Dragon Bradley, so that’s out of the question.

What’s good? any favourites??

The 1/72 Tiger I w/zimmerit is a pretty nice kit. Revell’s 1/72 Tigers are fantastic. The new DML Armor Pro Elefant is nice. The Trumpeter Ferdie and Elefant are really good kits, too.

Another question… I see your FIrefly on the bottom, wipw. Very nice. Do any companies make a 1/72 scale firefly, or would I have to scratch convert a sherman.

I haven’t seen a 1/72 Firefly. I’m not sure if Hasagewa or Airfix did one in the past or not. Be nice if DML came out with a state of the art kit! And thanks for the compliment. I wish I hadn’t screwed it up right after I took the above picture.

Get Dragon’s 1/72 E-100 if you can find it.
There is no cooler panzer!

In 1/72, Revell’s Leo 1 is supposed to be excellent.

Dragon’s PzI DAK is very nice in 1/35th

you can buy me the DML 3-in-1 Tiger…

Hahaha!![(-D][(-D]
yeah right!! I can’t even afford that mystelf![sigh]

Thanks for the tip, J-hulk! The E-100 would be a gread build!

[#ditto]

Dragon also released a 1/72 t-34 which should be very nice. Italer makes some good stuff too. Just try to stay away from airfix and Hasegawa- their kits arnt bad, they just aren’t as detail as the others.
Revell makes a sherman with a 76mm barrel. Italeri also makes a sherman but with the regular barrel ans does airfix. For small 1/35 Tamiya zundaps, dragons goliath and kettenkrad are pretty small kits from what I hear.
Good luck on your search.

Dragon has two versions of the 1/72 Jagdpanther. One with zimm molded on (Armor pro series) and one without (Late Version - it has the metal hull). They are both on my list but I already ordered the Late version. Good luck deciding.

Matchbox made a 1/76 scale Firefly. Revell of Germany reissued it with vinyl troops but called it 1/72 scale. They recently reissued it alone and went back to calling it 1/76.

PK-71 is the original Matchbox Firefly
03160 is the Revell Firefly w/Austrailian Infantry combo kit
03211 is the Revell straight reissue

All the same kit, different decals and one comes with vinyl soldiers for those sand box battles.

Get whatever looks interesting to build. A 1/35 “small” tank you say? A PZ1 or 2 should suffice, or any of the recon vehicles…

Happy building!
