One or the other of the sides needs to come over to the other and say that together is better than fighting. Or better yet, meet in the middle.
Karl, I’ll call you out first. You’ve got the coverage here that you’ve earned and deserve. But don’t wear it on your sleeve.
Gino, you have the modeling skills and the look down on history that makes your techniques have a base for correct representation. But don’t think that one side or the other is better. It’s just wrong.
“Beauty is the splendor of order” said Aquinas, who IMO so well describes the concept of aesthetics.
Yep…knowing both Karl and especially my brother Gino…you have to realize they wear slip knot panties! They better than most understand this hobby is an art. In the art world there are many different views.
Karl is the king of finish and does some unbelivable things with paint.
When you spend the time strapping it on like Gino you answer the call of “attention to detail”. The problem is those of us who have spent time on the 1 to 1, realize at times some of the hot finishing techniques used today are not “real”.
In any case…we all realize none is right or wrong and appreciate all for what they are…Great modelers doing their best and what they enjoy.
To the old timers who have been here for many years, we have seen many blow ups…but true faimily always stay together. Enough said
Oh my gosh, Bill–as the kids would say “It’s all good”! [:D]
I appreciate your concern, but I promise you, anything said between Gino and I is/was in good humor, and that’s ALL. [:)] I was razzing him about “filters”, nothing more, because I know that’s not his cup of gasoline. I have the utmost respect for him as a veteran and a modeler. [:)]
Oh, OK, now I am tracking. Didn’t realize it was an extension of my Bradley post. As Karl says, no harm, no foul. We were joking and nothing was taken seriously. All is well.
