What the heck is that?...in 1/72

Hi all[:)]

Just a couple progress shots of my Revell Blohm & Voss BV P-194 Luftwaffe project a/c in 1/72 scale. The a/c never reached production but this is my guess of how it might have looked if it had. The belly is painted with MM “RLM 84”.
Final weathering, decaling and assmebly to go!

Happy modeling all!

Those design engineers at B & V need to look up the definition of “symetrical”. Nice job on the model anyway.

Lol…they sure made some crazy looking a/c. Most flew well though…Burt Rutan would have felt right at home with these folks! [8D]

Now this looks familiar. A little while ago I made this little bird for the “Prototypes and Paper Projects” GB, it was actually a kit that I found in my stash, not remembering when or why I ever bought it.
However I must say that I really enjoyed building this kit.

Joe, nice looking build.

Is that pre- or post shading on the underside?

You just have to love B&V for those whacky designs.

Karl

I really like that B&V, Joe - man, they created some seriously oddball designs - all extremely interesting.
I’m not in the habit of kissing butt and saying “great build” when it’s not - but man, I have to say that your model has really captured my attention and interest - I love it.
Post a few pics when it’s done, mate.

Nice job, Joe !
Aligning an aircraft like that can be difficult. I struggled through HiPM’s BV 141 in 1/48.
Looking forward to the finished pics !

Thanks for the feedback guys…Dan, it is a nice kit and fairly well detailed…it has been an enjoyable build so far…Karl, I pre and post shaded the a/c. The preshading effect was kept very light as I don’t like to over-do it. The post shading was kept mostly to control surfaces and engine cowl areas…Lee, that’s kind of how I felt when I saw this kit at a local hobby store. I am not usually a Luft 46’ fan but thought this would be a fun project and a break form the usual…
Pix, I was concerned about that but Revell did well here as the fit is good and alignment was fairly trouble free. I took it slow and double checked each step!

Thanks again guys!

Joe

Looks very nice so far. Should be another great addition to your collection.

Regards, Rick

Great job!! Is that really a Revell kit? Is it vintage-I didn’t know they made one.

Dan

Very interesting plane, the luft46 birds are wild. Read somewhere on the net this AM about a new “non-fiction” book about Germany testing a nuke towards the end of WWII. Things could of been/be a different.

The build is looking good. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Rick, Dan & Dan! It is a Revell kit though it’s not currently available. It cam out in the late 90’s I believe, along with several other well done Luft 46’ aircraft. I just happened to find this one at a local hobby shop.

Happy modeling guys!

Joe

I can’t wait to see that one completed. Looks like its gonna be awesome.

Great job, that is one of the more unique a/c designs… looks really cool though… would have been fun to fly in I think.

She is looking good from here Joe. Interesting subject

Thad

Thanks for the feedback guys…should have in done by this time next week…I hope!

Joe

Excellent job Ninedriver… great weathering.

that is one cool looking a/c, is what !
B & V certainly were following their own path
when it comes 2 a/c design…
thanx 4 posting the pix, ninedriver & DanCooper !

Inspiring as always Joe! Keep the pictures coming. [:)]

I saw an article about the Germans doing nuclear testing during WWII in the “Arizona Republic” newspaper yesterday, I think it was.
