hi guys,
my oil is starting to get a little low in my as shown by the little window on the side and i want to fill it up…however, i lost the original bottle and can’t remember what sort it was!! [#oops]
to make matters worse, although i bought the compressor from hannants in the UK, the instructions (which are TOTALLY cr*p[:(!]) don’t actually say what sort of oil to use (duh!), indeed they don’t even have the manufacturer’s name and the model on the front!![:0][:(!][V]
i think it is an italian make as that is the instructions’ first language, and it just says “15 EXPORT C-30H SILENT COMPRESSOR” and “serial no. 000631547” on the front.
it has a water trap, is electrically powered and can go from 6-88psi …that’s about all i can tell you guys.
your help would be very much appreciated, as otherwise my kitty is going to be left without a camo scheme over in the panther group build!![:0]
kind regards,
nick
Hi Nick.
Although I am not sure of the make you have, I am fairly sure that Silentaire’s oil will work fine in it. I am using it in my Jun-Air compressor because Jun-Air oil is about $30 per bottle.[:0]
The Silentaire is not cheap either as it runs $18.50 for a 22 oz bottle from Dixie Art.
If you want to get a professional opinion then call or email Ernesto Ceraudo at Silentaire Corporation. He is an expert on silent compressors and comes from Italy, so I would be willing to bet that he knows what you have and what oil you would need.

I’ve got an Italian silent compressor, and it came with a bottle of Sincom 32E synthetic lubricant. I got my comp from the local hobby shop, supplied my J Perkins. Same rubbish instructions.
Your best bet would be to go to a local compressor stockist (check yellow pages “compressed air”). If there is any doubt about compatability, you could always drain out the old oil and start again.
Cheers
His best bet is to email Ernesto like I said. [;)]
I doubt there is anyone in the U.S. who knows silent compressors better.
Most of the compressor people in the phone book have no idea what a silent compressor is and they could give you bad information and have you put a bad oil in your compressor and end up with this happening:

guys,
just for your info, the compressor i have is a shesto one, and i found out that irrespective of brand-name, my oil has to be grade 32E; hope this helps if anyone else runs out and doesn’t know what to get…(unlikely because only i’m that stupid!![:p])
regards,
nick
Nick,
Did you find that out from Ernesto at Silentaire? Were you able to locate any oil for it?
