What, not another halftrack.

This has been made quite a long time just got round to finnishing it off.

Another beauty for your collection Bodge. [tup]

Very nice—reminds me of the recent “Nordic” style of muted colors and subtle fading…sweet…

Manny you are a true gent and that has made my day, I love the Nordic edge stuff and thats my favorite book at the moment. I think thier models are among the finest i have seen . I guess what you like at the time rubs of on your builds, thanks again for taking the time, allways a pleasure.

Freaking awesome. I love your tarp, the wooden seats and tools. Fantastic weathering. Got any more halftracks? [:P]

Cheers, i have got a demag waiting for the weather to change and a famo half built. Watch this space.

WOW!! Nice half-track, I especially love the tarps and the seat! Not to mention the wooden floor-boards in the back.[tup][bow][tup]

I have to ask what did you do to weather the tarp??[?]

I weathered the tarp much the same as the rest of the vehicle with a few dark washes and used some very diluted washes with pigments, and as these dry looking a lot more prominent than when you put them on if they are too stark i wash with straight thinners to dilute them and just keep working randomly until im happy with results. The tarp is hand made from a strong tissue paper [swg]

Great job and excellent weathering effect all around.[tup]

This is fantastic, I think you did a wonderful job making this half-track. I especially love the wear marks on the tarp from where it ties down, they are superb. The rust is also excellent, especially at the weld marks for the hoops and the tool brackets. The horseshoe and newspaper on the front seat back are great as well. I’m truly inspired, this is just a fantastic model.

Aloha,

Justin

OT. Aloha Justin. I’m heading there tomorrow. You’re the first member that I know of from there. Cool.

You know… there are lot of guys looking at the half tracks in their stash now and saying, " Oh, what’s the point!"[;)] Another beauty[tup]

Very nice, I always see these and think the tracks are too far forward… lots of fender room in the back and little in the front.

Hi guys,Tigerman,Betterman Mathew9 ,The judge and wingnut i thank you for posting your coments,As long as people continue to enjoy my photos i will continue to post. Its nice to have the time to model still in my hectic scedude (wife ,2 kids, and running my own building buissnes and trying to put a pool in the garden) the list goes on. I got up this mornig with plans of my own until my sister rang up and said can u deliver a carpet for my two brothers flat not knowing i had to fit it aswell, hell i even missed the qualifiying of the grand prix.

Just superb Bodge! WOW!!!

How about a little bit of info on how you did the seats? The tonal variation on the seat is really tremendous! Did you use pastels there too?

The way i do the seats is i paint them in the lighter shade first ,let it dry overnight(enamels)then i use the mig darkwash and build up a darker colour, then let dry and then i gently scrape off the darker colour to reveal the lighter one underneath. Then repeat the proces until your happy with the result. on this build i added a wash of rust pigments where i wanted the light colour to be more prominent but you have to do it with a very fine brush to get the required results. With me it was trial and error i new what finnish i wanted and tried diferrent ways to get it.then i add the scratches with a dark colour again with a very fine brush. Ive only done this finnish twice on both recent halftrack builds and both finnishes are different.I was inspired of this finnish when i saw a figure with a worn leather flying jacket and i new i wanted to achieve that finnish but sadly there was no imformation as to how he done it and so as i said trial and error . cheers Doog.

WOW! The weathering on that Half track is sooooooo cool Great work! the wethered sheet tarp thing is great.

[:)]

Glad u liked it Stickman, im onto a Demag next, its build ,just needs paint .

Wow Andy, where did this one come from? Your a machine!! I love the finish on the seats, the tarp and the gas mask container in the back. Awesome fella. Love the rope in the back too, whered you get that from LOL.
