Hey guys, it’s me again. I’ve been having a fun summer, but not much building has gone on. I have since rediscovered my workbench (i knew it was down in the basement SOMEWHERE!) and finished my P-38J cockpit. This is my first attempt at resin, boy is it a different bird! I kind of view this as a warmup for my P-51A resin stuff (all the goodies! Cockpit, gun bay, engine yikes!). So, I give you the 'pit. Some details…
Paint- Model Master Interior green sprayed over a Model Master Light Gull Gray primer, Various Tamiya blacks, Tamiya aluminum, Tamiya Olive drab, Tamiya detail colors, Tamiya red Brown (good leather), and Testors Zinc Chromate.
Instrument panel- Colored all rings with white colored pencil. I really liked the result! With more practice I think i can perfect the IP!
Wash and Dry Brush- Used black wash and highlighted with aluminum dry brushing. I’ve found Testors aluminum works very well for this!
enough chat here’s the pics!
Tell me what you guys think!
P.S. Here’s a sneak peak of my next build… I bought a Touch n flow applicator and I just had to take it for a test drive… SWEET!
Max she looks great, nice job on your P-38 the front office [tup][tup], but what’s this rubbish about summer!!! Mate it’s the middle of [censored] winter and I’m freezing my butt of here [;)]
Hey guys thanks for the comments! I really like the colored pencil technique, you should try it!
Jon, I’m building Hasegawa’s 1/48 P-38J. It’s not too bad so far, but if you ever build it remember the landing gear bays are TRICK-KAY!
Pix, Actually you are my inspiration for this bird. I saw you start yours and I got all antsy and had to bust mine open. Yours is like 10x better, but I’m learning. At the rate I’m building, we’ll probably finish the same time!!![;)]
