WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MODEL MADE

Favorite model I ever built? Toss up with a few subjects: the Glencoe 1/220 Oregon, a kitbashed 1/350 Sumner DD from the Tamiya Fletcher and the Blue water Navy Gearing and a band saw, the Monogram 1/48 B-58. There are others but these would certainly occupy the top of the list.[:D][^][:D]

Thats a toughy, but when I think about kits I truly enjoyed building begining to end and couldn’t complain about anything in them, my vote would have to be Italeri’s 1/72 T-45 Goshawk. Well thought out and a breeze to put together. I think its one of the only kits of the American version of the Hawk going outside of a 1/48 Collectaire multimedia kit.

My T-45 met with an unfortunate end during a move and I’ve been waiting for it to be re issued ever since. Perhaps with the soon upon us retirement of the T-2 Buckeye, that T-45 will come back to the shelves.

My Rusty Wallace Miller Lite Taurus, hands down. After that it would be either the Nomad or Impala. They both turned out pretty nice, but had room for improvement.

I always say my next one’s my favorite! [:D] But I would have to say Tamiya’s Bismarck, because it is one NICE kit, and it was the first model I ever won an award for. [;)]

I’d have to say I had the most fun with the old 1/48 Monogram Corsair. With retractable landing gear & folding wings, molded in color, I considered it “no painting required” back then. It was kindof borderline “toy / model”. I built another one a couple years ago as a nostalgia trip. This time with paint. It was still a blast.

Seeing as my models never turn out like I imagine they will when I buy them, my favourite kit would have to be the next one!

Being that I have only built three models; my fave thus far is the Revell-Monogram F4U-5N Corsair. She was my first. Has always been my favorite warbird and has such beautiful lines!

Over and out.

crownover, which Gee Bee do you build? Is it the 1/48 testors kit, or the 1/32 kit (sorry I can’t remember the mfg.). The testors kit is fun but needs a lot of work to look good, the fit of the wing to fuselage could be much better. Also the lack of a cockpit in the testors kit is a drawback. If you build the 1/32 kit, let me know how you like it, my local shop has one in the bargain bin I have been thinking about picking up.

I would have to say the Monogram kit of the SEAQUEST. It was very easy to put together, 9 to 10 parts. Pretty simple to paint also. It was a good looking model until my wife decided to know it off the shelf. GRRRRR!!!

They finally came out with a BMW 320i. An old 78 was my first car…old man pants blue. It had a turbo…which with they way I drove at 16, I promptly blew out the engine. I had to give it up sob sob I detailed the model down the the dice in the mirror, the turbo muffler, the Dave Matthews sticker I had on the back window, and the tiny turbo word on the back. it is my piece de resitance (yeah, and if you speak french, sorry, I studied Chinese in HS)

I suppose i’m biased, but i love my trio of B-17Fs and, yes, it’s because of the movie “Memphis Belle”… the first two didn’t survive for very long since i was still experimenting on them… that bomber has such pleasing lines, though i’m very interested in building the '17’s stablemate, the Liberator…

I love the figure dio. I’m doing now of a dog handler team, but every time i see Tamiyas enterprise I want it so bad. i like big ships and one day i will build my Hood and Tirpitz kits.

I think mine will be the B-17. I have built a few lately, but not really well because I’m just starting out. I have memories of a B-17 my Dad made when I was about 6, 1977, and I remember it looking really cool. He hung it from the ceiling by glueing fishing line to the wings and tail fin. I still remember getting in trouble for climbing on a dresser just to be able to touch it. I think it will be my favorite, but I am waiting until I get better.

The 1/48 scale SR-71/YF-12 Just love it. Short on detail and parts but a beautiful model when finished

Favorite Kit Hmmmmm Well the one I can say I am most proud of is a 72nd scale Fine Molds Messerschmitt Me410A-1 It is the only kit I have ever entered in a contest. 2nd place multiengine small scale. 1st place out of box Great kit if anyone has one. JOHN

Revell F-14A Tomcat. It wasn’t the easiest kit to put together, but with a lot of work, a very nice model was made.

It is hard for me to pick a real favorite. But one that gave me great satisfaction in creating is my Hellcat Reno racer. The year was 75. My brother and I both had an unbuilt Hellcat in our stash and decided lets build them. it was not a contest but we did set one rule, could not be in US military markings. Off to our respective rooms and let the building begin. I clipped the wings to just inside the existing trim tabs and rescribed the ailerons, flaps and tabs. Next cut down the rear fuselage and I filled the hole with a balsa plug. I modified the seat and cockpit slightly to gain that lower profile. The front decking over the panel was cut and filled with sheet plastic scraps. Then the canopy was cut and shaped from a discarded canopy from a T-33. After a week the results were brought out to the living room. Jeff picked a bird serving with the Royal Navy. I was ready for those other radials, you know, Furies and Bearcats. I was ready for the Mustangs too!

i like the first real model i ever bought and built. the tamiya 1/48 P-51 D mustang korean war. i still have it, it looks awful, but it reminds me that ive come a long way from the days when i thought that decals could be touched up with cement. =D (the sharkmouth pattern still has a hole in it where i touched the glue brush to it thinking it would smooth it out lmao)

I guess the Kit I enjoyed the most was the OLD
1/48 Hasegawa F-4G Phantom “Wild Weasel” in the tri-color scheme.

Wish I could redo that one, doing the decals alone took hours the sheet was nearly the size of the box.
[:D]

I have two. A 72nd Tamiya Corsair done in Pappy Boyington markings (#86). Built a whole squadron of them as a kid, and now I have one to keep, the rest fell victim to flak!

Took me 8 years to get the nerve; I finished a Mark Martin Valvoline T-bird from his '94 season. Difficult paint sheme took me years to try to attempt, but the satisfaction in finishing it was worth it. Slixx decals rule!
