The one I’m most proud of is this tiny 2500-scale Klingon battlecruiser. It was the first time I ever did a serious attempt at masking and it came off better than I ever hoped it would.
I’m an aircraft guy, but as a kid I built cars and love dragsters. Yours is is a thing of beauty!
Wow! Never tried anything like that! Amazing work.
I feel that way about my upcoming B-1B. Should be my centerpiece but where? It’s got a 3’wingspan!
Outstanding work John, as always!. Wish I could pull off metal finishes that well. Congratulations.
Thanks. I wanted to “trick out” my Montana ship some how and I thought What could I do?
How could I make it a little extra special?
VERY FIRE made the entire cutaway lower barbette assembly, so I figured I would go the extra mile and do a cutaway of the top gun turret housing. To the best of my knowledge, I’ve never seen anybody do that to a 1/350 gun housing before. I might be the first.
Given the amount of research and scratch
building required I’d say the 1/72 E-2D conversion from Hasegawa’s E-2C Hawkeye 2000 would be my current pick. It will be part of a larger display of Navy AEW development (1945-2025) that will be displayed onboard USS MIDWAY later this year.
Awesome job on your Hawkeye wdossel! I really like that you chose to display it with its landing gear raised. I’ve liked the Hawkeye ever since my brother sent me pictures of them when he served on the USS America.
I do not have a big collection, having only recently picked up the hobby. But for now, it’s definitely my Heller Bisquine de Cancale. It was a limited edition, a wooden fishing boat, back in the 90s, So around 30years ago.
It’s far from perfect, I requested pic from my parents since it’s under glass in their house, but even then I’m impressed at what early teenager me achieved back then.
It can’t compare to the work posted in this thread, but I am really happy the way this one came out.Tamiya JS-2
That Sub has to be one of the most impressive I’ve seen.
Beautiful, simply beautiful!
Looks gorgeous! Show stopper for sure.
Now that is one eye catching truck- just awesome looking!
Appreciate the very kind words.
I find it difficult to point one out, as I have built many models over Sorry, I can sse that I have posted this recently, sorry about that. Please remove the post
more than 60 year long “stint” as a model builder, but I like this 1/25 Takom Mk.IV “female” tank from WW1 ![]()

Great diorama scene! You’ve really captured the look of “No Man’s Land” in the Great War.
