What is the best way:

  1. Paint and brushes
  2. Spray Paints
  3. Air brushing

And what are the best ways to use these items and on what type of parts.

It depents on what you will paint.
Small parts I paint with a brush.
Larger areas with the airbrush, for both kinds of painting you must exercise to do it the richt way and don’t be afraid to start al over again when it’s not ok.

I use my air-brushes for almost everything… I generally only brush paint very small parts.
