Future should never be thinned…
I clean my A/B with ISO after using Future.
Never thing, and I clean with windex.
for water based paints / future, i use a mixture of 2 parts water (distilled or RO), 1 part simple green, and 1 part windex. after cleaning i flush with distilled / RO water; after a long messy day, i take everything apart and put in an ultrasonic bath for about 10 - 15 minutes.
gw.
I’m with Tanky, I never thin Future and clean with Windex.
Darren
after spraying future thru the ab (or anything else for that matter) i clean it with laquer thinners. this stuff is da bomb, cuts thru everythng and make cleaning a breeze!!!
if ur gonna use laquer thinners, id reccomend making a fume can, as on swannys site.
As well thinning (works perfectly for me) as for cleaning I use pure alcohol.
In the Netherlands I can get mineral spirits. These are always colored slightly blue, and contains approx 92% (?) alcohol.
On holidays in France I get ‘alchol a brûler’ (alcohol to burn), which doesn’t have that nasty blue coloring and contains an amount of pure alcohol which illegal to sell in the Netherlands (96%?). So: vive la France!
Only for rough work I use the blue spirits; otherwise always the french stuff. By the way: it costs approx $ 1,- per liter if I recall correctly.
I’ve been wondering this very question as of late. Thanks for asking, ipms40049! And thanks to all who responded, too! I learned something new today.
Straight Windex, then a couple cups of water through the brush.
I’m with the consensus - don’t thin and clean with windex.
Windex great for windows and airbrush cleaning!
It’s true, you don’t need to thin Future, however; I usually thin Future with a sall amount of 70% Alcohol when spraying clear-coats. I do this cause I find that I will cut down on tip build-up and atomized better when leveling. Also I pour a little alcohol in my small bottle of Future to rejuvenate it after it’s been sitting a while. I find this works great so far for me. Try it!
I’m with a few of the others.
I thin my Future, for some reason I get better results that way.
As for cleaning, I run Windex through first, then some ISO.
