what is blue-tac and here can i get it

it is a gum like substance used to mask models for painting i saw it in 2 other modeling mag( sorry FSM)

You can probably find it at Wal-Mart, 7-11, just about anywhere. Look in the stationary aisle. Sometimes called sticky-tac.

It’s marketed under all sorts of names, but essentially it’s purpose is to temporally hang up posters. You can get it most any stationary or arts & crafts store.

Available almost any where and some isn’t even blue I just saw a package of beige in the same package from the brand of blue I picked up…looked almost like silly putty LOL

Any stationary shop should also have it, packaging and colouring will vary between manufacturers.

Found many uses for it in modelling, nearly lasts forever.
The stuff is got uses Linseeoil to keep the putty moist, if it dries out I simply add a few drops and kneed it for a bit, voila, as good as new.

If it contains linseed oil doesn’t that affect the paint if used for masking?

I haven’t found any problems, said that since I started doing Anime resin kits I apply many clear-coats during the painting process.
This helps me in cleaning up mishaps as I can wipe the colour off without fear of damaging the underlying colours.

School supplies in any department store. Great for hanging posters, photos. I found that it does leave a stain when its on something for a while (like the walls or the poster). But a while is something like 6 to 8 months.
