Below are the projects I want to complete in 2019. Eight kits. I don’t think this is too many kits for a twelve month span.

I retired 2-1/2 years ago at age 70. I have since found that retirement can pretty much be like working. Just like working, retirement comes down to time management and setting goals. I’m not surprised that it took me over two years to figure that out. I can be a little slow on the up-take sometimes. After wandering around for almost three years, I decided I need to get serious about getting something accomplished hobby-wise.
I have a plan for each kit. The Boeing Clipper and the B-29 will be built as part of Bish’s Eighty Years of Airfix group build. I have a year to complete those. The F-102 because I have been watching Steve Canyon reruns almost daily. The Kubelwagen and Bf-109 will be together in a BoB diorama. The Tri-pacer will be part of a grass airstrip fly-in diorama. Lastly, the Boeing 737 will depict a Janet Airlines 737 that flies from McCarron in Las Vegas to Area 51 every day. The P-82, I’m not sure yet. It could indeed be the record setting P-82 Betty Joe or it could end up being a model of Reilly’s XP-82 projest. We’ll see.
There you have it. My goals for 2019. We’ll see on New Year’s Eve 2019 how much I’ve indeed completed. Actually, wish me luck.
Well, if I didn’t do this, set some kind of goal for myself, I’d just sit in front of the TV and watch cable news and whine about how miserable my life is. I have more going for me than that.
Your stash looks nice. Can’t wait to see how they turn out. [:D]
I have a “never built” mini shuttle that I am working on for the Race into Space Group build that is almost done, but has been that way for a couple weeks now [:(]. In addition I also have another small build for that group build that I sterted but put on hold when I decided to do the mini-shuttle. Dpending on what all happens over the next few weeks I might try and finish that up sometime soon too. After that I have an MPC DC-3 that I want to do a conversion on for the DC-3 group build, and last night I just started a very small scale WWI tank. Its almost done now, but painting it may take awhile.
After that, I’m not really sure what else I may try to do, as real life often seems to through may plans off [:P].
Everytime I set a modeling goal something else in and around the house breaks so I hafta fix it. There goes the modeling time and the modeling money. So much for retirement
Jay Jay, this is my favorite and most effective appliance repair tool. I’ve had for years. It was passed down to me from my mom’s father. He was a welder by trade. Using this tool will free you up so you can do more model building. You are welcome to borrow it anytime!
I’d be happy to get two completed, but I haven’t finshed one in 7 years! I need to get a few across the line. I have 4 in progress and a few easy kits in view, so it’s possible.
