What I love about Rummage Sales

The price…50 cents.

Decals are good, all parts are…wait…oh

Looks like another rummage sale scratchbuild!

Whats your best rummage sale deal?

I got my Wife at a yard sale! REAL CHEAP! [:p]

Boy its a good thing she doesn’t look at my hobby forums!

[%-)]Yard sales? Garage sales?

Since I don’t need to buy a yard or garage I only go to Rummage (“Jumble”[?] ) sales![^] Guess that means that I need Rum(mage).[(-D]

i got the Tam M60A2 once for 2 bucks

I got a shoe box full of 1/48 aircraft pieces and parts and accesories at a yard sale at Ft. Bragg in 1978 for .25cents… I still have several of those parts scattered amongst the other things in my main spares box. There were probably three or four dozen 1/48 figures in a variety of poses, a bunch of small mechanical looking pieces, several sheets of styrene, etc etc etc. I’ve fantasized about finding a nice treasure chest like that again sometime. When I was on my honeymoon in 1985, my new wife and I were strolling down the street of a tiny town. As we passed a junk shop, she said “Oh lets go in and look around”. Great, I’m thinking, If I get out of here with just a trinket, I’ll be lucky. I wander to the back and find dozens of Tamiya 1/700 ships. (If this was the ship forum, it would be perfect.) The price, $1 each. At that time I was a plane builder but you know you can’t pass up a deal like that. No, I didn’t get them all, just the Rodney because of the cool front mounted turrets. It has occupied a prominent spot on my to build pile to this very day.
