It’s the Airfix 1/24 bird… by what you see here… what year of kit ‘roughly’ and what version of Harrier is this?
Thanks!

WOW !!! thats older than the one i did i’ll check around
Thats a Harrier Gr1 , I also believe the kit allows you to model it as the American AV8A
So I take it its not so bad for an older kit?
I looked at the new ‘Flightpath’ set that MIGHT work for the older cockpit but 70.00 to 80.00 U.S. YIKES!! [:(]
Skii’s right on.Its a predecessor of the GR3 which had the rangefinder in the nose. Not a bad kit tho
That looks like the original 1974 issue - fresh mould so the detail should be crisp.
I got the newer kit which includes GR3 bits as well as decals for the USMC (VMA 513 Det A), spain and the Thai Navy (AV8A)
If you are not using the 1 Sqn RAF markings, could we do a deal?
All I need are the ’ Winged 1’ decals - my old unit you see.
Oggy4624, I have these decals in 1/48th scale, you are welcome to them if you want them:
Thanks John.
I have the 48th decals, it’s the 1/24th ones that I need.

As has been said it’s the origional Airfix 1/24 kit…very rare. it has it’s problems but nothing that can’t be fixed.I built the “new” GR3 version for 1(F) Sqn before I was posted and looking at it not much has changed from the kit you have.[:)]
Guy’s, it’s not that rare, well, not in the UK that is. It’s 30 year old modelling technology.
It is VERY basic in a lot of places, has huge numbers of rivets everywhere, moving control surfaces,( which means out of scale gapsat the ailerons) the upper fuselage lifts off to see the ‘engine’ (more gaps) the rubber tyres may have perished, etc etc.
In its favour, it’s the biggest Harrier kit going, and the sheer size will impress (& weight!) but, it has lots of faults & takes a lot of work with some good reference material & maybe aftermarket bits ( unless you scratchbuild) to make a good model to todays standards. (or even the standards of ten years ago)
I spent several months on mine, a friend out here is just finishing one off too, again, it’s been a long term thing, big don’t mean easy!
Good luck
Pete
