Well I decided to go for the Revell 1/125 U-99 VIIB (none-cutaway) U-Boat
Yep - add me to the long list of sad-sacks who have run out to buy U-Boat models off the back of playing Silent Hunter III [:p]
Oh-dear.
This kit is going to need some SERIOUS work. Aside from the torpedo doors and rounded pressure hull vents, there is no detail on the hull at all. Nothing !
The smaller detail parts are pretty poor, and covered in sink-marks and lots of flash.
What was going to be small project is going to be a leviathan by the look of things, lots of rescribing and superdetailing required
Ah well - time to stop whining and get back to it
