i just took an old 1970 chevy chevelle i did a few years ago and cleaned it up and used a turtle wax polishing compound and scratch remover it worked pretty good it really brought out the paint job to a nice shine. any one else ever use this before
I never have myself, but I have heard of others who use automotive waxes, and they work fine. I would just be sure to not use anything too abrasive unless you are using auto paints as well, as hobby enamel is soft compared to auto paints. Sure would like to see a photo there Deano.

Haven’t ever used turtle wax - I might give it a try.
I usually use Meguiar’s yellow wax - kinda expensive, but for 1/24 scale cars, a bottle lasts years and years. Make sure you let the paint dry COMPLETELY. For enamels I wait at least two weeks, sometimes more. I also use a lot of automotive acrylics (nasty to styrene, but ok if you’re careful) and that dries more quickly. try and post a picture of your Chevelle - always did like them
THANKS GUYS I DID THE CHEVELLE A LONG TIME AGO ILL POST A PICTURE SOON WHEN I GET SOME FILM TO PHOTOGRAPH IT BUT ITS PRETTY COOL
Looking forward to seeing that picture of your Chevy … sounds like a good technique for bringing back faded paint.
