What do you think about... Events, Shows & Meetings Forum?

What’s the opinions about revamping or redefining the “Community Announcements” forum (does it serve a useful purpose for anyone?) and making a forum dedicated to discussions about upcoming shows, meets, conventions, member get-togethers, etc. – for people who may want to see who else is planning on attending, discuss details about the event, perhaps meeting up in person. This forum could also become home for the national/regional threads which have been popping up.

I’m just thinking the General board swallows up the shows, meets, convention topics really quickly – and they’re not really “announcements”.

Would creating a forum for these types of posts help in the promotion of events within the modeling community?
