What do you seal Mr Color lacquer paints with.

I currently airbrushed my A-7E Corsair (and a mighty fine job I did), with Mr. Color lacquer-based paints. I now want to add the decals and then start the wash and pin wash process. What do you seal the paint with as the washes will also be done in oil paints as well.

Can you just use Pledge (my usual go to with Acrylics) or is there something better or more compatible to use with a lacquer base paint.

I use a few choices. Model Masters clears, Tamiya clear X-22, Alclad clear gloss. Stay away from rattle cans, you may get a reaction you won’t like. These 3 are all safe over Mr Color paint.

I use MRP clear lacquers now, but have also used all of the same ones BK uses with success as well. Just prefer the MRP these days because of the durability.

I have the X-22 tamyia clear…but that being an acrylic, will I be able to wash, pin wash and weather with oils? Or should I then put on the coat of pledge to ensure the oils flow as I apply them with a brush?
