When youv’e finished a project what do you save (other than the subject itself ). For me its the instruction sheets as they dont take up much space and they make for great memories.[:p]
Finish a project…some of you guys crack me up. Just kidding. [:D]
Instructions, spare parts, some boxes but not all.
Instructions and whatever spares I have left over. You can never have too many figures machine-guns, running gear etc. The day after you throw it out, you’ll absolutely need it to replace a sacrifice to the Carpet Monster. Murphy will insist.
I save all parts on the sprues, as I do a fair bit of scratchbuilding, all instructions, and boxes if I like 'em. I have no models left from my youth, but lots of instructions, and some pretty pictures.
i toss all the boxes and save the parts on sprues, all the spares, but i cut the sprues to be real small so that only the peices i need are on them. i file the instructions and any left over decals in a manilla envelope.
I’ll let you know…in the unlikely event that I finish one. What a minute, I finished the BMW. Hmmmm, I gotta find it. This doesn’t bode well…not well at all.
Since I’m not a scratchbuilder, I don’t save many extra parts. I used to save the box lids, but only on “cool art”.
Sometimes the cover art… my favorite to date is the one on ICMs MiG-3…showing it flying over Stalingrad.
I save any extra accesories and weapons that may be able to find thier way into another build. Instructions as well, just in case my 3 yr old gets ahold of one and I have to rebuild ( allready came in handy once) and figures I toss in a box till it gets full and then deploy them to another builders workbench who may actually use them .
I save all spare parts, the empty sprues, instructions, and the box. At some point, I’ll have to start tossing boxes, but I’ll keep the best looking tops.
I save all the spare parts, the boxes and the directions. I use the boxes to store spare parts and stuff
spare parts and I cut the box up till I only have the box top art.
[:D] i save all the spare parts in pill bottels, and label them, also save directions, sproos i cut up for mixing paint.i sometimes save box art but not the box.[:D]

I save all extra parts, decals and some of the box art and store them wherever empty space is available!

I save the box top, long pieces of sprue, decals, instructions and left over parts.
I also save photo etch frets and instructions.
I save the lot sprues, instructions box art and spare parts I am a bower bird.My better half dosnt like it but what can I say.!!![:D]
Fortunately , when I posted this same question months ago in here , I came to my senses and disposed of all my old boxes ,neatly filed any extra parts I may need in ONE box and got rid of ALL my old sprues that were no longer needed , making room for more junk in my modeling room , and I did just that , ordered more junk , so it was in vain anyways ![:D]
I always save all the extra parts, decals, and the instruction sheet. If there are some interesting sprues (like really straight and round pieces, or pieces with nice corners) I’ll save them, too. If the box art really impresses me, I’ll cut it out and file it away, too.
One crazy thing I used to do in the college years was pin the whole box up on the wall. I’d pin the bottom part of the box on the wall, and just slap the top on it. My walls were covered with gravity-defying model boxes!
Of course, my roommates thought I was nuts!
