Hey everyone I was just wondering what all you guys would think would come next from Dragon. Do you guys think Dragon is going to come out with another U.S. Halftrack. Or do you guys think that Dragon will make a Crew and some Infantry to go along with the Halftrack.
Well, in 1/35, besides the blockbuster M2/M2A1 announcement this week, there are other already announced kits. Panther M10 Ersatz and others. A real question as to what will get the “smart kit” or “premium kit” upgrades (like the M4 Hybrid, T-34/85 and others). The M3/M3A1 parts were spotted at Dragon’s Euro display. So they’re definitely in the pipeline. I think the question is whether or not DML will come out with a Pz II series. Figures are easy to produce so I wouldn’t sweat that one at all.
I think a Pz II is logical, after al,l they have the Marder II chassis in which to build off of.
I know that this is a pipe dream, but wouldn’t it be nice if dragon made up some First World War subjects. I would love to see dragon, with all their impressive engineering and detail, make some stuff like:
Mark I’s, IV’s, and V’s, A7V’s, Renault light tanks, French 75mm guns, and figures.
I’d love to see it. I may be dreaming, but I have to mention it. The old stuff from Emhar is nice, but it’s a bit dated.
Semper Fi,
Chris
I’d like to see a M4 or M5 H.S.T. in 1/35 .

Hobby Boss has announced a 1/35 M4 HST
What I think will come next vs. what I wish they’d do next…now there’s a difficult question! [:D]
The pattern with Dragon has been about 1 kit per month more or less…but the yearly event cycle is drawing to a close, so that may taper off a bit. However, I think the next thing to come from Dragon, in terms of their release schedule, will be the M4A2 or perhaps even the Firefly Ic.
They’ve got a lot of possibility of line expansion with the Pz II, Pz I and now maybe the Allied fans will start to get more deserved attention with the M2/M3 HT line along with the continued efforts with the Sherman family.
It’s a good time to be a modeller. [;)]
T26 , i recall you mentioned this before in another thread . I’m not familiar with Hobby Boss , is the kit molded in resin or plastic? In 1/35 ?
So many kits, so little build time.
I hope they come out with a Panzerjager I or the Pz II. I need more Afrika Korps possibilities. They might do a Bison based on the Pz I hull. More Allied would be welcomed like a BT-7. [:-^]
Hobby boss is a new company. Their stuff is in plastic and they do both 1/48 and 1/35.
One thing Id like dragon to move onto is the not so popular stuff. Stuff from different countries, ie poland, belium, etc. I’d also like to see som more german artillery pieces. And I am still waiting for my sdkfz 251/1ausf A which they announced a LONG time ago.
I’m tired of the WWII genre, their M1A1 was an awesome suprise even if it took forever to do!!! I would love to see some more modern armour done up as either premium editions, or new releases… with the new tooling and such I’d love to see some T-55’s and up with all the goodies. More modern stuff from Dragon would be sweet!
You know, it’s kind of funny IMO. WW II ended some 60 plus years ago, but it overshadows all the newer confrontations such as Desert Storm, Vietnam, and the Arab-Israeli wars. Even the newbies seem more fascinated in WW II. Us WW II modelers definately have it good.
I’m hoping for some tank figures to crew their M1A1 and some ground troops as well. I’m hoping also for a Challenger 2 to better the Tamiya version just like what they did with the super Abrams! How about an M8 tractor? So much to wish for so little time to build so much money to spend!
I think they will continue with WWII kits with a few modern ones thrown in. I would love to see them revamp more of thier old kits such as they T72, T80, etc…
Bill…the Japanese release date for the M4A2 is October 6th, so that is definitely out soon
Dragon likes to release variants of kits they have out, so how about an M4A3E2 Jumbo? Or for something totally new, how about an M5A1 Stuart or an M24 Chaffee?
I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw some further halftrack variants, and possibly a PZ II. I’m looking forwards to seeing their Pz 38(t).
Further, they announced a ‘premium release’ of the IS-2, which I’d love to have, and a similar treatment to their T-34/85 would be nice.
Not sure what’ll be next but it’d be nice to see some British armour.
They’ve already announced a “Premium” of the T-34/85, looks pretty sharp. I too am looking forward to their 38(t) but thought it would be out by now given the Tristar release, but I guess it too will have its day. [:)]
I just bought a couple of their new 1/72 AAVP7A1 RAM/RS models (kit #7237). OUTSTANDING!!! I have several of their 1/72 AAV-7’s (kit #7221) from Somolia timeframe, which was already a good kit, especially for the scale. The newer kit has a plastic hull vice the metal of the older, plus it has molded in EAAK boss’s, which can’t be found on any other AAV kit produced in any scale, the newer “big foot” style track, and comes with photo-etch fret for the intake/exhaust grills, muffler gaurd, and all hand rails. (I plan on contacting Dragon to purchase three PE frets for the AAV-7’s previously mentioned)
I am a Trac’r by trade, so pick up just about any AmTrac kit that comes out, and this is definately a top notch kit. I’ll eventually get around to assembling the reinforced platoon of various LVT’s/AAV’s in various scales, unfortunately thats not tomorrow, next week, or even next month.
Forgot to mention, but I ran across the kit listed on Squadron’s new kit listing.
probably just dreaming but it would be nice if they’d release some of the WWII Japanese tanks
