What do I need? (Decals)

This probably should be asked in the decaling section, but I thought I’d ask here first.

I want to make my own decals. I have the software (Photoshop, AutoCAD, etc) and can use them. I just need to know the materials I need. I guess just the paper and some kind of sealer. Correct?

That sounds about right (from what i know of custom decals)… but you’re going to need some special printer in order to print white. Then again you could forgo the special printer and get your white from a sheet of white decal paper to use as backing when you apply it. [:D]

I think I’m lucky. The decals I’m doing will be for two different aircraft. Believe it or not, I don’t think either one of them have white in em.

Ok, so is there a particular brand or company I should buy from? Any suggestions on this?

I dont know about brands but make sure you pay attention when buying the paper to print the decals on. From what I know there are two types. One has a clear backing and the other has a white backing… for the decals that have white color in them. I bought the paper that had white backing and had to precisly trim all white off the decal when using the clear backing would have saved alot of time… Now if only I could remember the name… paper came on a small box of 10 or 12 sheet (I recemend cutting a sheet of regular paper the same size and doing test prints till you get what you want printed so you dont waste the decal sheets because the print was to big, small… and the Sealer came in an erosal can both by the same company as it was a two step process. Had great big flowers on the box and can… ugg I hate when I forget simple things. Good Luck

micro-mark.com sells the decal paper, both clear and white, both for ink jet printers and the other kind.
