I’m participating in a Polar light competition, and am working on the drej Alien from the film Titan AE.
OK, I’ve almost finished building it but it has a peculiarity, and that is it’s not supposed to be painted. it’s made of a translucent blue plastic to give the same effect the characters had in the film.
My question is, is there anything you can do to add a bit of personality to this material. All I can think of is varnish or wax.
Anty ideas would be appreciative.
Thanks
What effect are you after?
Not sure, I just dont know what I can do really.
I finished the build early this morning before work, and wonder if I’m going to have to paint it like a normal kit. I’m also running out of time, photo’s need to be taken by the end of the month!
How about a wash to add some depth and accentuate creases/lines?
Could you use Tamiya clear paints to highlight it?
Hello
I am not sure how much this will help, but here is a link to a Starship Modeller build review I found.
Was thinking about this kit 'cause they are so cheap now on Ebay.

Hope this helps.

Have you thought of any way to possibly add lighting to the kit, possibly through a base or exterior lighting?
Thanks for the help,
Starship Modeller used to be a big contributor at the Maschinen Krieger site until it got hacked to death ![]()
I finished mine now, and it’s surprising how similar it looks to his. just need to take some good pics now.
